Good Ambience - Edit
At first we wanted to try their taco rice, but we opted for their karaage set since it seemed to be their most famous dish. The side dishes were really good. The karaage was crispy but it was a bit too salty for us. However, it was complemented by the light miso soup; but still, I hope the karaage was less salty.
Read moreI liked the ambience of this palce even though it was small. The service was also good.
I will definitely go back there to try their other dishes.

Tasty food in a cute spot - Edit
We both got the soy meat set meal. This was one of the cheaper set meals we found in Japan and it was delicious. It was smaller than other set meals, but for the price it was excellent value.
Read moreThe sides were all really good, but the soy meat was the highlight of the meal and was delicious. Our favourite mock meat in Japan was either here or izakaya masaka. Would definitely recommend checking it out if in the area.

Famous for karaage - Edit
This place I believe is famous for their karaage. We also ordered it and liked it a lot. Decently priced as well. What we also especially liked was the seasoning for the rice.

Generous portions - Edit
I got the A menu which is your typical fried soy chunks. They season their food really well, and their 3 side dishes are a nice touch. (Pickled daikon, cumin carrot, and bean sprouts with sesame oil.) their miso soup also had a nice heart warming feel to it.

Nice place close to the Shibuya station - Edit
My first meal ever in Japan was actually in this place. I had fried soy with rice and a chocolate dessert. It was simple but good enough for the price/location even though it was not something that made me return while in Tokyo. Still worth a visit if you ask me, and I would probably try it again if I return to Tokyo.

Nice Traditional Food - Edit

the best karaage!(fried soy meat) - Edit
The famous vegan restaurant located in Shibuya. I had their fried soy meat lunch plate and it was soooooo goooooood! It's crunchy, chewy, and the thick taste of source really matches huge Karaage 😋

Delicious Japanese-style lunch - Edit
Lovely, small, all-vegan place with a few Japanese-style lunch options, all of which seem well thought out and put together with attention to complex flavours. I had the cold soup bowl with rice and vegetables, which came with a spoonful of delivious homemade spicy miso paste, together with a selection of pickled foods and a few small dishes of things to try. My partner had the set menu with chicken-like karaage. It was fun to discover the different flavours of the set meal. The portions were not small for hungry eaters. We also ordered a portion of falafel, which were quite nice. The place has a very comfortable and casual atmosphere. It was easy to order in English.

I am really happy that Nagi Shokudo is still thriving in 2021 and ALSO during the state of emergency (currently only open during lunch hours). To stay updated on opening hours during this time, make sure to check out their IG: nagistaff
Read moreTheir soy meat lunch set is my fav and I have been coming here for years to have it. It was great to have it again. There has been a small price increase in lunch set from 1000Y to 1100 Y, which is totally okay (the lunch plate also seems to have bigger portions). Another convenient thing is that they have started to accept payment with credit cards, where before they only accepted cash.
The food is tasty, filling and cheap (it feels like it is made with love) and the interior is charming. The people working at the restaurant are very kind and attentive. There are three different lunch set meals, and an extensive drink menu.
Pros: Cheap and delicious, Good musac

Had a Nagi A plate that comes with Vegan Karaage ! The karaage was one of the best vegan one that I have had before! The garlic and ginger taste makes it pretty much like real karaage.

Tasty, filling, and cheap! - Edit
Great little restaurant a short walk from Shibuya. Lunch sets were great, and this was a perfect place to come with a good friend to celebrate her birthday. (Just the two of us; not the place for a big gathering!) anyways, like a hundred other reviews say, this is definitely one of Tokyo’s best vegan places. If you want a thick vegan soup stock, they’ve got it! And the fried soy meat tastes so good, it’s got to be unhealthy.

Average food. - Edit
Ordered their alacarte fried soy meat (800Yen) and dal vada (880 Yen) with the brown rice set which comes with miso soup and pickles ( 450 Yen). Soy meat was decent. Miso soup wasn’t nice and not served hot. Staff was unfriendly.. when I asked for an empty bowl, he brought me a bowl of rice and miso soup and when I clarified that I just want the bowl without the rice he gave a disgruntled look. There were only 4 other customers at that time.

Nice but not amazing - Edit
The place is quite nice and conveniently located not too far from Shibuya station. However, it was not very clean and tidy to my taste. The food (I tried fried soy - karage) was tasty, but without offering anything unique or amazing. The portion was rather small. After the main dish I also tried both types of cakes they had that day (chocolate and apple) and they were very good. All in all, it is worth visiting but not providing very good value for the price.

Cons: Not very good value
