Delicious and pricey - Edit
Had a delicious weekend brunch here, the coffee and cocktails are amazing too. They’ve dropped the diner vibe and redecorated, decor is classy with vegan messages on the walls. But $28 for eggs Benedict is extreme, even if it was excellent.

Not a diner anymore - Edit
It has become an upscale restaurant where they serve a really small amount of food for a high price. Not bad, but not outstanding either.

Amazing Reno and revamped menu - Edit
We went to Mythology before and after the rebranding/renovations. I didn't think it could get better, but they really outdid themselves. We had the ravioli and the glazed tofu which were beautifully flavorful but subtle. For dessert we had the beinets which were scrumptious and not too sweet. The decor is beautiful and the music is hip but not too loud. Overall, just a fantastic date spot!

Alright - Edit
Way overpriced in my opinion. Food was alright at best and definitely overhyped and portion sizes quite small. They've also changed their menu quite a few times. I have heard that their wings are delicious although I haven't tried them myself. This was before the renovation started though so maybe it will be better when reopened. Hopefully they stick to one brand after this - going from a diner style to what seems like very upscale is quite a jump.

Best vegan Reuben ever - Edit
Stopped in here late in the evening the night we got into town to check out Vegandale. Ordered the Reuben as that is my all time favorite sandwich and I’ve sampled them all over the world. This is the best one I’ve ever had. Somehow the seitan was thinly sliced, not sure how they pulled that off but my oh my what a fabulous mouth feel it produced. The Cobb salad was a delight, complete with half a hard boiled “egg”. Don’t miss the Nutella cheesecake for dessert, it was light and airy and better than I remember cow milk cheesecakes. This place is a must-do. Our server was also very helpful in providing local tips and was just extremely pleasant all around.

Tasty brunch! - Edit
Make reservations. The bacon is so good as are the home fries. Wish I’d ordered a shake, but it’s February and I’m already cold... We had the peanut butter and jelly French toast. It was good and different but I’d order something else next time. Nutella cheesecake was amazing. Sadly, Mac n cheese was removed from the menu.

One of the Best "Intro to Vegan" Restaurants out there! - Edit
This menu is supercharged with binge-worthy feel-good plant-based food. We had the King Oyster Calamari, Buffalo Boneless Wings, & the Reubenator with a side of poutine.

Okay Vegan Diner but a bit expensive - Edit
The Mythology Diner is quite small. Street parking seemed to be the only option. We found parking very near the entrance on a Saturday for brunch.
Read moreThe service was a bit slow but every seat was filled. We were told they were short staffed.
$6 side Cobber Salad: This was a Cobb salad including a vegan boiled egg. It was quite large for a side salad. It was pretty good especially considering the vegan boiled egg however I would likely not get again as I'm not big in Cobb salads. I would recommend if you are.
$17 Doug's Slam Platter: The flavor was okay, but not good enough to warrant the price. The pancake flavor of the day was blueberry lemon. We were surprised that our platter automatically came with these pancakes rather than plain when we did not request it. I don't like this flavor so I would never have ordered it, however my partner did like the flavor. The pancakes tasted more like a baked good rather than pancakes. There was too much cinnamon and spice.
The 'egg' we ordered was over easy. My partner really liked this as this is the first time in 5yrs we've been able to order this. I did not find it to be a good facsimile. You can find some great recipes in a cookbook called 'Eggz' by The Gentle Chef.
Washrooms: The washrooms are not gendered which is nice but they are also not labeled as washrooms (no label at all). The inside of the washrooms were clean. There is writing on the walls that are backwards so you can read it only through the mirrors. They recite vegan misconceptions.
Overall we found this Vegan Diner to be a bit expensive and not worth the price.
Pros: All Vegan
Cons: Expensive , Short staffed, Food okay and not worth the price

Impressed - Edit
Second time dining at Mythology but the menu has changed quite a bit since then. Came for brunch and ordered the eggs benny, Croque Madame, and the omelette. Also got honey garlic wings and iced hot chocolate. The eggs benny were definitely the best and most flavorful, followed by the Croque Madame which I really liked but was a bit dry. The omelette was okay but I don’t think it was too special. Really liked the wings. Not a fan of the iced hot chocolate - I had no idea why it was spicy. Not a-bit-of-cinnamon spicy, but proper spicy, which totally overpowered the sweetness of the drink. Overall I really enjoyed the food and can’t wait to come back to try more dishes!

Vegan heaven - Edit
It was a delicious meal. I had the Croque Madame, and I must say as a Frenchie it did was not an original French Croque Madame, more like an Americanized version. Still yum though! And my friend had the fish (tempeh) and chips that I tasted from and those were the bomb 🙌🏼

I’ve only been in Toronto for a week and I’m all honesty Mythology wasn’t at the top of my to do list but I went and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the cobber salad and my boyfriend ordered the Mac & cheese and both dishes were awesome! Next time I’m here I’ll be going back for sure

Don’t get the tempeh and chips - Edit
My partner had the philly and LOVED it (so 3 stars total) and I got the tempeh fish and chips - it was honestly disgusting. The chips were fine. The batter was hardly Cooked and so covered in dill that was the only flavour I could taste?? The tempeh was also just a thick slab of tempeh? If I go again I’ll get something else for sure, I feel sick thinking about the tempeh fish. Also - you don’t seat yourself but there’s no sign hanging from the door or anything so sometimes the host seemed a bit rude when customers would come in confused, not be greeted, and then sit themselves and be told to stand back up for the wait liSt.

Decadent brunch - Edit
Three of us had the slam platter for brunch, and it met our expectations. One of my two "eggs" was missing a yolk, and they brought me out a whole new "egg," so I ended up with a bonus egg white, so I wasn't complaining! The pancakes were peanut butter s'mores, and were fab. I liked the "bacon" and toast as well, and the potatoes were nicely crispy and seasoned. Six thumbs up!

We thought we were at a different restaurant, but were very pleased! - Edit
We walked into the Mythology Diner thinking we were walking into the famous Doomie's! We learned the restaurants were owned by the same person and honestly, Mythology looked way more fun and had a very diverse menu! So we stuck with out mistake and were very pleased! I had the fish and chips which was made out of tempeh, my boyfriend (vegan) had to try the Reuben, and my brother (carnivore) wanted to try their take on a burger with vegan bacon! Then we also ordered the mac 'n cheese to share which was delicious with lots of Nutritional Yeast and the buffalo wings! My boyfriend and I also decided to share the S'mores milkshake which was insanely flavorful! Portions were very large so we had lots of leftovers.

I came here honestly just to try the egg but the whole meal was just amazing. I got the Doug Slam Platter and the bacon was the most realistic I've ever had, the wedges were goddamn BEAUTIFUL, the pancakes were yum, the maple butter? Was realistic hut the eggs were AMAZING. HOW DO THEY MAKE THEM!!! Both of our meals together came to $38 but it was honestly work it.

Filling and Fun! - Edit
Me and my family of seven visited the Mythology Diner and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We went around 1pm and were glad to see it wasn't busy, as we've heard about the occasional long waits. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the strawberry milkshake, the s'mores milkshake, the poutine, the calamari, the mac 'n cheese, the alfredo, the loaded baked potatoes and the lemon meringue pie (Like I said, family of seven). All were quite good, although my personal favourite would have to be the loaded baked potato, simple though it may sound. Our waitress was lovely and the art was very fun. We left full and satisfied. I'd definitely go again next time we're in Toronto.

Confused - Edit
After five of us went to sample everything we could on the menu to find out what all the hype was about a friend of mine gave us his verbal review “confused food for a generation of confused vegans”. It made sense. And although all nine items on the menu we all tried and shared were not hypeable. The energy and thought and creativity put into everything about his place is. I made the mistake of having the NY Steak because I was “confused” and thought “when in rome maybe I should have something I don’t think I have ever missed”, and it was not the droid I was looking for as it left my jaw exhausted from chewing and I needed to order a side of bbq sauce for flavour. The cauliflower wings at the start were great and the people working there were too!
