10 out of 10 stars

I love eating at Mushwings. My go-to are the BBQ Mushwings.
Basically they create wings out of oyster mushrooms. They are done just perfectly. I bring these to events all the time, and even meat eaters LOVE them!! If you haven't tried them yet, you are missing out.
Their location feels sketchy at first, but I like how they even address that in a funny manner on their social media.
I truly don't understand the hate I see them get online, because their food has always been nothing but INCREDIBLE and the owners have been extremely kind and helpful!
My only wish is that they were open during lunchtime during the week, so I can have this on my lunch break.

Re-edited due to owners response

>
Funny how people in Oklahoma are so rude and bitchy when you leave honest real experience reviews; the owner had lovely things to say so I’m re-editing my review; to this place being actually horrible due to hair found in food and them commenting below rudely denying it…..

They have about 3 or 4 different business names but their pretty good: near the paseo: however they can take nearly 25 minutes just to get give you your order while you sit there and wait for pickup orders. Needs to be quicker and less slow. Good but due to slow service it can be cold. I’ve also found hair before and had to get an order of mush wings re-made once. Also overpriced for what you get. So it’s a hit or miss kinda place.

We are one business with 3 concepts. however, so sorry you had to wait for your order. This is a cook to order establishment to make sure that your food is not cold that way as soon as it is prepared we bring it right out to you. It is 2 cooks in the kitchen and we do orders in the order that they are placed. None of us have not had to re-make any orders because of hair. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Steak Sandwich Supreme!

OK, those of you who didn't grow up in the Greater OKC area wouldn't remember the Del Rancho commercials for their Steak Sandwich Supreme. Basically, it's chicken fried steak sandwich. Well, I just had the vegan equivalent with the Kickin' Chic'N Sandwich. Made with oyster mushrooms, I believe, it tasted delicious.

Now many of us when we went vegan tried to duplicate/re-create many of the comfort foods both from my youth and early adulthood. Chili and chicken fried steak are the two I've worked hardest on and I've nailed the chili but not the chicken fried steak. Mushwings have nailed it.

Let's start with the breading. The key to a quality breading is not only that it's flaky and crispy, but it must have flavor on its own - without the sauce. The Mushwing 'Chic'N' could have been eaten dry (without sauce) which speaks to its quality. All their food is made to order as well (and only took about 15 minutes) so you also know it's not sitting in a warming oven waiting for a customer. I put some spicy Ranch on top which just made it an out of body experience (pardon the hyperbole.)

I also wanted to try some wings, so ordered an 8 MushWing togo. Sauce flavors include Lemon Pepper, Buffalo Lemon Pepper, Mango Habanero, Cajun, Garlic Parmesan, BBQ, Honey BBQ, Asian Zest, Garlic Chili, Buffalo, Ranch, and Spicy Ranch. Honey BBQ was recommended to me, which was delish!

Note: First time by is hard to find them - they are on the backside (north) of the building right next to First Presbyterian Church off Western & 25th. There is indoor and inner courtyard seating

Pros: Best Vegan Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich I've had, Plenty of sauce options, Fresh ingredients made to order

Cons: Tough to find them at first, but there were signs, Made to order means wait time - but wasn't too bad, Expect to spend $20+ per person
