HOLY HAPPY COW!!! Gem of Isla Carenero! - Edit
This place, and Mardel, the woman who runs it is amaaaaazing!! My daughter, husband and myself snuck in towards closing..Mardel made us huuuge portions of Pad Thai ( with Indian fusion, masala curry), falafel with fries and the biggest veggie burger, we couldn’t finish it all! SO GOOD!! We spent time looking through all her handmade jewelry and picked out some beautiful necklaces and earrings…each piece had a story, that Mardel shared with us. The price for 3 meals, 3 drinks and jewelry came to around $65. Well worth every cent. Rustic outdoor dining area on stilts over the Caribbean. What a view! So arty, funky, with home style food made with tons of love.

People inside but wouldn’t let me in? - Edit
Similar to the last person, lots of signage about what they have on offer - walked about to what I believe is the restaurant on the pier, sign says open, door locked - can see a guy inside on the couch and a lady on the deck, both just ignoring us. We left. Went a little after midday on Saturday, according to google they are open 9-5??

They live in their restaurant, and they were on vacation.. there was some mix up with google apparently, causing miscommunication … Mardel told us she’s had done difficulties with her online presence. Honestly, she’s the sweetest person and so is her husband, kids and gorgeous pup!

What's going on here? Hostile and unfriendly - Edit
There is something really odd about this place. I was really keen to go here but it was not clear how one gets in. On the house on stilts in the water there is lots of signs saying what they sell etc plus one saying open but the entrance is surrounded by barbed wire and signs saying to not enter. Weird. If a place is closed I wouldn't review it but I really didn't know what was going on here except that even if there were an obvious way in it was really uninviting.

There was no barbed wire on our recent visit ( the land portion of their property is being renovated).. We had an incredibly warm, welcoming, deliciously all vegan experience. Apparently they’ve had some issues with their online communication and tried to make that known.
