Yummy and comforting - Edit
We visited Hertford specifically for Mudlarks after encountering this charming cafe by chance on an earlier trip. They had a charity event and the live music completed the experience. All the food is freshly made and is all vegetarian. Most food is vegan too or have an option to be vegan. Good vegan choices for a larger lunch or smaller bites to eat. Delicious cakes too! I had the homemade soup and friends took the hotpot of the day and the black bean burger. Coffee and cake as dessert. Everything was yummy!

Veggie & vegan cafe with a good cause - Edit
Vegetarian cafe with a good portion of the menu being vegan. Went here for lunch with a friend on a weekday and managed to get the last table. They have a seasonal menu and specials. I had the jerk jackfruit and pineapple wrap with mixed salads and my friend had a pasty (vegetarian, although there was a vegan option) with salads. The food was really tasty and came out quickly although they forgot one of our drinks and we had to enquire about it near the end of the meal. People with disabilities are employed which is great but they could be included more in a range of roles (they seem to be just be bringing the food to tables) and there could be inclusive signs for customers to be patient etc.
Read moreVisited again and managed to get a table after a little wait. Got a pasty with salads & a special ‘hot from pot’ bowl of Ethiopian Efo Riro. Food was very tasty & good value

Everything things about this place is great. The cafe is right in the centre of town, it's lovely, bright and clean. The food is fresh and delicious. The mushroom roll and curry pasty are my favourites, both are served with a mix of salads. There's a kids menu too.

Loved this cafe - Edit
Stylish, spacious, informal and a great place to meet up and chat with friends - very child friendly too. Food was lovely, healthy and balanced. We had the vegan mushroom roll with salad and the vegan pasty with salad. Portion sizes were good, although the roll and the pasty were served cold. Salad was delicious. As were the soya lattes.

We were walking through the Hertford when we chanced upon this lovely cafe. We took away a mushroom roll and a curried pasty - both delicious ( especially the pasty) polite staff who were dealing with covid and distancing. Look forward to another visit 😁 didn’t eat in as we have a very noisy dog😂🐶

Splendid lunch! - Edit
On a rare visit to Hertford today, we visited this cafe, as it was recommended by Happy Cow. We both had the spicey bean and sweetcorn burger wrap, which, with an added salad made for a tasty and substantial lunch. Just room left for one of their scrummy cakes! Pleasant garden to sit in, and really friendly staff.

Great Charity Cafe - Edit
Mudlarks is a cute Cafe in the centre of Hertford with both vegan and vegetarian options. I had courgetti bolognese which was very nice (and only £6.50!) and a courgette and chocolate cake which was absolutely beautiful, I'll definitely be going back. And all profits from this Cafe go towards helping adults with learning disabilities

Exquisite Cuisine - Edit
When it comes to Mudlarks Garden Café, there is nothing I can say to fault their excellency. Each and every person is welcoming from the chefs and the waiters/waitresses right the way down to the people working the tills.
Read moreThe food itself is unbelievable. So fresh and homey- and for a good price too. The fact that it's organic just makes it even better.
The atmosphere is easy going and comfortable. It's small and quiet with a relaxed feel.
To top it all off, the fact that the money goes to helping adults with special needs in the working world makes this my favourite veggie place in the world!
