Donuts - Edit
The vegan donuts and chai was good, comes unsweetened but you can add syrup. You can also get vegan samosas here. They sell T-shirts and Slingshots here too.

Good latte - Edit
Stopped in for a quick latte to-go. Coffee was good, the people working were very nice. Soy and oat were the milk options available. Looks like a good place to work/study from - it was quiet on a late Friday morning.

They ain't foolin' - Edit
Stopped in for a quick pick me up. Ordered an iced oat-milk latte and a mixed berry danish. Both were solid. Wish I could have tried the donuts but came on the wrong day.

Awesome experience at Mother Fool's - Edit
Such a warm, friendly environment! The vegan pastry case has so many delicious options. The raspberry rhubarb danish (or galette, not sure), was splendid. Sometimes I think pastry crust can be bland -- but I enjoyed each bite of this baked good! Great coffee with refills.

Fully vegan cafe - Edit
I love that everything is vegan here! They do good pastries, but the coffee isn't the best in Madison (though there are free refills on drip coffee, which is always a plus). It's usually pretty quiet with lots of seating, so it's a nice place to get work done.

Fun vegan coffee shop - Edit
This was a nice coffee shop with good options for vegan pastries and other snacks. The donuts and drinks were tasty. It was also cool to be able to pick up some supplies here in the grocery section. I picked up a bag of raisins, but there was honestly a good selection for this small of a place.

Friendly Staff + Coffee - Edit
We found Mother Fool’s on Happy Cow. It’s true they’ve had all vegan pastries since 1995!! We had a raspberry rhubarb tartlet. It was delightful! They have a great soy milk too for thick foam in the cappuccino. You should definitely go!

It was okay - Edit
I am so happy that there is a full vegan coffee house in Madison, but the latte I had was just okay. The baked goods are inconsistent. We've had really tasty donuts there as well as some pretty dry donuts other times.

Cool Place - Edit
This is a cool little hipster, dive joint selling all vegan baked goods. I tried a chocolate cupcake. The cupcake was huge and the chocolate was rich and tasty. I didn’t care for the icing though; it wasn’t buttercream.

Funky and friendly coffeehouse with a full case of yummy baked goods. Finally I don't have to ask "anything vegan?". Hardest part is deciding which to try. Oat and soy milk for your coffee at no added charge-as it should be.

Really disappointing blueberry muffin (no flavor and bad texture) and a chai that just tasted like almond milk. Would not waste your time.

Food is vegan minus butter and cream cheese (add ons). Cute atmosphere. I had a cup of miso carrot soup and it was great, but not really miso soup but more like a potato soup.

I stopped in at Mother's Fool during a road trip that took me past Madison. I use the "happy cow" app when I'm traveling to find vegan friendly food options on the road. It's nice to not always have to order off the sides menu.
Read moreMother's Fool was good, I got a soy chai and two cookies. I was just hoping for a few more options (more bakery options and food options - there were only a few bakery items) to make it worth me getting off the interstate for it. BUT the soy chai and the cookies were indeed good!!

Almost All Vegan Establishment - Edit
My husband and I had a great visit to this place! The guy behind the counter was friendly. As far as I could tell, the only thing I could see that wasn't vegan in this place was dairy options for the coffee drinks. There were two kinds of soy milk available and almond milk as well, all for no extra charge. There was an amazing variety of vegan baked goods, courtesy of a vegan bakery in Milwaukee. Vegan soups were available from the Green Owl vegetarian restaurant down the street. They even had vegan samosas available the day we were there, but we didn't get to sample any of the savory stuff, unfortunately. The baked goods and coffee drinks were delicious. We wanted to come back during our stay in Madison, but there was just too much other great vegan food to be found, so we couldn't fit a return visit into our schedule, unfortunately. We will be back next time we're in Madison!

Great bakery case and chai - Edit
It was easy to find and there was plenty of free street parking available. The atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming. I liked the vibe I got from the place. We made a beeline for the bakery case. The barista was very friendly and helpful with drink and food suggestions. The case had some many options: cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies, Danishes, breads, and cake. It was a fantastic selection, and everything was reasonably priced.

Classic East Side Cafe - Edit
Frankly, anywhere on the East Side of Madison is a wonderful place in my opinion, and Mother Fool's Coffeehouse is verily in keeping with my mentality. The mismatched couches and chairs, graffitied wall, and classic Madison hippie baristas all contribute to give Mother Fool's the warm and fun atmosphere of the East Side.
Read moreFood and drink-wise, Mother Fool's always has a bakery case stuffed full of vegan cupcakes, cookies, tarts, pastries, bread rolls, and my favorite sun-dried tomato bread. They also have a vegan soup-of-the-day and all their drinks can be made with soy milk at no extra cost. A welcoming, delicious, and vegan-friendly cafe fit for the East Side.

Awesome vegan sweets - Edit
I love all the sweets that they serve here especially the cranberry orange scone. Also great coffee and tea with soy as an option.

Cons: uncomfortable couches
