Just okay, weird experience

It's kind of frustrating not to be able to order with a server. I went to their website since my phone was having trouble scanning the qr code at the table. This led to a lot of confusion though. Ultimately it was kinda frustrating and somewhat overshadowed the actual eating experience. The food was just okay - I wouldn't rush to come back for it.

Great flavours, great experience

Lots of clearly labeled vegan options.

Everything we got was full of flavours. It is well felt that everything they do they do with dedication and love.
The portions were big, yet affordable. The atmosphere was also very welcoming. The staff we interacted with were all very nice and friendly.

We ordered pan fried dumplings, soup, and spicy garlic tofu with rice.

Pros: Great value (price, taste, size), Vegan friendly , Cozy and welcoming

Greasy but reasonable price

This is very greasy takeout style Chinese. It’s inexpensive and easy but a bit too oily for my taste.

Clearly labeled options!

We were super happy to see the clearly labeled vegan options on Mo’s menu! There were several options to choose from, including dumplings, noodle dishes, and rice dishes. My husband, who LOVES dumplings, thought that these were some of the best he’s ever had. We were also really impressed with the tofu teriyaki- super flavorful, great texture, and good portion size.

Pros: Clearly labeled vegan options, Lots of vegan choices , Delicious!!

Vegan Chinese Dumplings

Mo's Dumpling is a contender to be the best Chinese restaurant on the westside and perhaps in all of Santa Cruz. I recently dined in once and did a large catering order for an event, and overall, solid 3.5 stars for both times.

Their menu is huge and clearly marks options that are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. I their dumplings, scallion pancake, string beans, and noodles. Everything ranged from $10 - $17 so it can be as inexpensive or pricy as you like it to be.

I was a big fan of the string beans but found the dumplings to be average and the garlic noodles completely passable. I wish their veggie dumplings had a heartier filling but having the option itself is appreciated.

More recently, I worked with them on a catering order and it was easy calling and making our arrangements. All of our guests at my event loved the food, but I wasn't a fan of the food being nearly an hour late with little communication given to the cashier about what was happening. I think if I were to order from them again, I would need to make clear whether they could handle this type of order because being on time is important.

Overall, really enjoyed Mo's Dumpling and I hope to try them again soon.

Pros: Vegan Chinese options available

Yummy

Many options labeled on the menu. They switched V and Vg symbols which made to weird to weird the menu (Vg as vegan??? And V as vegetarian??)

I had kimchi tofu dumplings and some other thing that. I don’t remember but it was really good.

Pros: Many options , Labeled menu

Cons: Reversed symbols on menu

So glad Mo’s came to town

I had the vegan dumpling soup with wheat noodles, broth was delicious. The dumplings were so flavorful. Spring rolls and peanut sauce did not disappoint . And the teriyaki tofu with noodles was also also tasty. I’m so glad they have many vegan options! And it says so clearly on their menu.
Although like most other take out places they had a lot of plastic packaging. Service was a bit slow, but also don’t go in their last hour of closing. Great prices

A gem in Santa Cruz!

Delicious food and great service. We had the pan fried vegetable/tofu dumplings, tofu spring rolls and garlic fried noodles. Everything was very flavorful. I look forward to trying more of their dishes. I haven’t found anything like this in Santa Cruz. It is really amazing!

Pros: Many, delicious options
