cant miss getting the vegan monster smash burger, so delicious, fries are to die for and they have two locations as well! one at the famous belmont station, and now at the my oh my. great peeps even better food!!!
I ordered the Vegan Smash Burger, which is two Beyond patties, vegan American cheese, Monster sauce, and house-made pickles on a brioche bun. I understand it's a smash burger, but it looked like barely even one patty. The sauce (or pickles?) had a slightly tangy flavor and the bun was fluffy. Overall, it tasted pretty good, but it was too messy and overpriced.
Ridiculously good burgers at one of the best hangout spots in SE Portland - Edit
I've been going to Monster Smash frequently for well over a year now, so I was shocked to see they barely have any reviews on HappyCow – they make my favorite vegan burger in the whole city. The Beyond patties are smashed into crispy deliciousness, paired with a delicious sauce and (I think house-made?) pickles, and then served up on a fluffy, delicious Dos Hermanos bun. I've eaten at least a couple dozen of these things, and I have no intention of stopping.
Their fries are crispy, salty, and served hot – and they're also served up in huge portions, so you may wanna find a friend to split an order with. Fortunately, if you get thirsty (and you certainly will), Belmont Station is, like, two feet away from the truck.
I love you, Monster Smash. You're so good.
Note: HappyCow doesn't let you give a five-star review to any place that serves meat, so just know that this is a five-star vegan burger in my book.
The burger is actually very good but the bun is too thick, which ruins the vibe a bit. The fries are very hot and very salty. The fry sauce isn’t vegan, but they’ll give you a container of burger sauce (which is) if you ask. Really though, the reason you’re here is to have a round at Belmont Station, and it’s easily good enough to justify a nice beer.
