Fusion restaurant, offering vegan options

This fusion restaurant, has a clearly labelled vegetarian labelled menu. The helping staff can identify which can be made vegan. Option of both indoor and outdoor dining. There live music too. Great place for a relaxed evening meal.

Live music and nice atmosphere

Nice food on our first night in Colombo. At the end of a mew’s with nice restaurants aimed at tourists. Asian fusion style with plenty of vegetarian options.

Pros: Live music , Attentive staff , Located in a nice area

Good food, helpful waiter

Waiter understood what vegan meant and checked with the kitchen to be sure. I was excited to try the black pepper tofu based on other reviews, but the waiter was sure it contained butter that could not be removed. He confirmed the pad thai could be made vegan, and it was really good. It comes medium spicy so if you are sensitive to spicy foods, you’ll want to specify that. I also had the pineapple chili margarita, which was delicious. Ambiance was nice, they had really good live music!

Pros: Knowledgeable on what vegan meant, Good food and drinks, Nice ambiance

Great curry, mediocre starters

Great vibes & cocktails and the curry was delicious, but not everything we ordered was superb

Pros: Loved the coconut veggie curry, Great vibe / style, awesome cocktails, Veg dishes / dishes that can be made veg

Cons: Not that many veg options, Vietnamese spring rolls were just okay

One of my fav places to eat in Colombo

Really tasty restaurant and most of the staff knows what vegan means. I have the "official" list of what can be made vegan. The black pepper tofu is the absolute BEST! The gado gado is rubbish though, literally raw veg in a bowl.

Soups and Salads:
1) Som Tum Papaya Salad (originally it is not a vegan dish, but upon request we can do it without the shrimp paste and fish sauce)
2) Gado Gado Bali - Vegan
3) Tom Yam Goong (Originally it is not a vegan dish, it has to be requested as a vegan dish without prawns and fish sauce)

Sharing Plates/ Starters
1) Goi Cuon Rolls- Vegan
2) Black Pepper Tofu - Vegan

Mains:
1) Phad Thai - (has to be requested to be made vegan)
2) Tauhu Bakar - Vegan
3) Longtong- Vegan

Vegetable Sides:
1) Chilli Morning Glory (has to be requested as a Vegan dish without the shrimp paste)
2) Purple Eggplant - Vegan
3) Javanese Mixed Vegetables - Vegan
4) Potato Sambal - Vegan
5) Long Bean Stir Fry - Vegan
6) Achar Pickle - Vegan

Rice Dishes:
1) Khao Phad Jay - Vegan
2) Coconut Rice - Vegan
3) Jasmine Rice - Vegan

Sambals:
1) Sambal Rica Rica - Vegan
2) Sambal Tomat - Vegan

No desserts are vegan!!

Pros: Black pepper tofu is just the best, Great service, Love the location and atmosphere

Cons: vegans options aren't mentioned on menu, no vegan desserts, tad expensive.

upmarket vegan dining in Colombo

Family of 5 vegetarians + vegans had dinner. This is an upscale restaurant in beautiful location - in a fairy lit lane. There were enough vegan options to satisfy us and the pockets of beancurd were particularly tasty. Price was ok - Expensive by Sri Lankan standards but reasonable by UK standards. It is not licensed but we were offered beers which we realised after they went elsewhere to buy and they were expensive as were the kids moçktails.

Pros: good quality food , beautiful setting, city centre location

Cons: some drinks were expensive
