Nice dinner out - Edit
Went hear again for the second of third time. Has a good vegan menu range. We had the pumpkin dumplings which I just admit were a little ... different. Have never had pumpkin in dumplings before, but I love dumplings so still appreciated them. The King Oyster mushroom satay stick were really good, great flavour. We also had a noodle dish, can't remember what it was but that was also pretty good. The dishes were a little on the smallish side, but it was about $40 in total for all three dishes which was pretty reasonable. Overall a nice dinner out ☺️

It's not located in the heart of ritzy Beaufort St, but once inside the food options and friendly staff make up for it. Pricing and food presentation is great. Portion sizes also adequate and take away also an option.

Really disappointed... - Edit
Visited here on a Friday night with my mum and sister. As the title of the review suggests, we left disappointed. Especially so because all other reviews seem to suggest that this place is fantastic. We even saw a Gold Plate award displayed in the restaurant but from our experience, we really don't see why this restaurant is deserving of one.
Read moreThere appeared to be only three staff (two servers and one chef) on the night we visited. Unfortunately for us, this meant slow service and a wrong order being brought to our table which resulted in a longer wait for the right order. What was really the kicker though is that the serving sizes were not value for money. My mum ended up paying around $22 for a soup-sized bowl of curry and a small roti. I ordered the Sayur Lodeh and felt that if I had been really hungry that night, I wouldn't have been full from my portion size either. The food itself wasn't bad but nothing to rave about.
I'm not sure if this is just a case of a normally good restaurant having an off-night. It's a real shame though, because I feel that a lot of the issues we experienced tonight wouldn't have happened if Monggo had been adequately staffed to accomodate a Friday night's dinner service. Ultimately, I personally don't feel as though the food was worth the wait so unless I see reviews that restore my confidence in this restaurant, I won't be returning any time soon.

Points given for food that was at least somewhat palatable and the ambience of the restaurant.
Points taken off for slow service, a wrong order, and portion sizes not worth the price.

Great Central Asian Restaurant - Edit
Monggo restaurant , one of the best for central asian cuisine , has changed its view and renovated the interior keeping all its speciality, ambiance and friendliness with its clients. It is the most convenient restaurant for meals. its main and speciality dishes like Chinese and Asian dishes, vegetarian curry and noodles have not lost its zing, aroma or excuisitness. The staff is efficient and price affordable. recommended rooftop for family night dinners. I just loved the food. Reasonably good eating place for families and friends. Good for Asian food along with other choice food availability. Prices are reasonable. The food is out of this world, if you like Asian. The food is high in proteins and has authentic taste as well. Must pay a visit.

A new look with a great ambiance - Edit
I have to the restaurant with my clients and it is one of the best in town. It's an Asian restaurant and the food they serve us, always very tasty, the ambiance is good and very friendly staff. It is centrally located and they have a huge parking lot. This is probably the bestest Chinese/Asian restaurant in town. Very good food and if you like they have a Chinese menu as well that serves some of the food in traditional Chinese style. Their special soup and Noodles are the best pick on their menu. I am a veteran visitor of this restaurant. Love their Chinese cuisine. Service is great too. Prices are reasonable. A nice place to dine in. Do give it a try.

Welcome Addition To Eateries in Town - Edit
Excellent place to relax and unwind yourself. Live music and the view is just wonderful. Must visit place for families and friends. Monggo offers Indonesian cuisine with a difference. It is among one of the best fine dining restaurants for Indonesian cuisine in town. Had lunch at this restaurant and can recommend without any hesitation. Well received by the staff, great atmosphere and friendly attentive owner/manager. Reasonably priced and excellent quality food. It's a new welcoming addition to the local restaurant scene. DO visit ya foodies!!

Ambiance is good. Located in a gorgeous picturesque area service and food quality is very good. Experienced lots of variation price is also very good for quality and quantity. Provided a one time visit to satisfy yourself and get the experience and you would always want to go and will recommend to others too. Good service and taste. Starter is different. Serving and atmosphere was unique. One of my favourite place to hang out with friends and family . I highly recommend it ! you will have an amazing experience of food.

Fantastic Monggo food - Edit
Ever best food serves in Monggo restaurant. They have best variety of vegetarian food and mine 1 of the favorite is Papais Tofu. The staff presentation style enhances the food attraction and everyone sitting in restaurant must want to at least taste that vegan food.

The Best Monggo - Edit
For sure the best place for vegetarian food in Australia is Monggo restaurant, and one of the tops when compared to other places - even it is was far far better than fiver star hotels and restaurants! I love to eat vegetarian food Papais Tofu . In this they have authentic javanese flavor in Monggo presentation. The temperature is very good. The- several options have been designed by customers. A nice alternative to many places in the twin cities, and one of the top top restaurants in the Australia.

Brilliant service and the environment was amazing. The view inside is amazing and the mouth watering food they offer makes sure the money is well spent. I really liked the vegetarian curry and the course of vegan dishes on the menu. Highly recommended for vegan lovers.

We are staying near to Monggo restaurant and have tried the different restaurants nearby. But mongoo restaurant is Very Good Restaurant is no doubt the best! In fact I don't think I have ever tasted Mie Goreng that’s made with fried egg noodle , pawns, squid and monggo sauce. This food is also favorite for vegetarian because its tastes so rich and wonderful. We have now been there 3 times are going back for more. We highly recommend the Mie Goreng monggo restaurant. One of the top restaurant at this area

• From check in to check out, the Monggo restaurant staff is fantastic. At check in they gave us great information on Monggo restaurant and things happening for the week. The in house restaurant staff is very accommodating and nice. A breath of fresh air to most places we have been. The outside service is great for food and drinks. We used this almost every day for lunch. The Monggo restaurant LOBAK VEGAN FOOD is fantastic as well. Its vegetarian favorite, they serve with pickled radish. We will definitely vacation here again.

Spent 3 hours at this "Monggo" restaurant earlier this month and it was a great stay! We paid for a BEEHOON GORENG , which was available at a reasonable price. Therefore calm and clean environment, best seating system, friendly staff made our trip more memorable! The hotel restaurant was exceptional, not only because of every meal especially BEEHOON GORENG. We enjoyed a variety of options and was flavorful but also because the prices were so reasonable!I'd imagine there's a bit more traffic during high seasons, but either way, we'll definitely be back! Highly recommended! Wok-fried rice vermicelli with chicken and squid. (Chilli option: no-chilli, mild, medium, or hot). We order a hot chilli option as a vegetarian and enjoyed

Not only is the food amazing, but the service is pretty good also!! The closest taste to Indonesian food outside of Indonesia.....rich & smokey, and if you like it hot, your eyes will be watering in no time!!

This place was so amazing. They had 2 pages of vegan food and we ordered 5 dishes and they were all incredible. Its BYO and for 3 of us it was only $75 and we were absolutely stuffed. Can't recommend enough, I can't fault the service or food, definitely worth a visit!
