Just go to Crème - Edit
They only have "two" vegan flavors, chocolate and vanilla, but those flavors are in the *icing*, not even the actual cupcakes, which are entirely plain and bland. I'd expect better from grocery store cupcakes. The most egregious part is how elaborate and fantastic all the dairy cupcakes are, with tons of flavors and styles and toppings. It almost seems like they make the vegan ones bad on purpose out of spite.

When you really need a cupcake, Molly's is there. - Edit
Molly's offers 3 frosting & 2 cupcake options for vegans. For frosting: peanut butter, chocolate, and vanilla. For cupcakes: chocolate & vanilla. You can add whichever topping you want to your preferred base.
Read moreWhen you get into Molly's, there are all kinds of pretty cupcakes on offer, but none of the ones in the display are vegan. They pull vegan ones from containers behind the counter, and add frosting then.
It's kind of a bummer that they don't offer any fun options, like their standard issue cupcakes. At their Des Moines location, they sometimes have vegan specials or filled vegan cupcakes. But in Iowa City, it's just the same three. I'm glad they have vegan options, but I wish they were more exciting. I'd like to have a reason to go in more often.
The cakes are a little dense. They are lighter at Scratch Cupcakery in Coralville. So in general, I'd recommend Scratch over Molly's. (Plus, they have fun, daily changing flavors at Scratch.)
The soy lattes are terrific at Molly's, though, and the ambience is really cute. Kids love it. They could wipe down the tables more often, though.
Pros: Vegan cupcakes every day, Really good soy lattes, Cute atmosphere
Cons: Limited options, Dense cupcakes, Dirty tables

Molly’s marvelous munchies - Edit
Molly’s has vegan cupcakes that are kept under a counter so you have to ask for them. They have vanilla and chocolate cake that can be topped with chocolate vanilla or peanut butter frosting. I was assured these had no eggs. The store was cute reminding me of an old hardware store. The help was friendly and the prices were fair.

Fantastic Cupcakes - Edit
The vegan cupcakes are amazing. I wouldn't know there was anything different about them. They also serve tea, coffee, and espresso drinks. I love to stop here between classes.
