Chicago Cupcakes - Edit
The vegan cupcakes that were available but you have to ask because they are not on display. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. The customer service was good.

Vegan cupcakes are kind of disappointing - Edit
If you’re not going for the vegan cupcakes, you’ll love this place. They have some of the most clever cupcake flavors and the ones that are filled inside are top-tier. That being said, if you’re looking for an equally amazing vegan cupcake, I think you’ll be very disappointed. First off, they only have a plain vanilla and plain chocolate flavor, so you can’t get any of the fancy options that I think makes Molly’s Cupcakes such an institution. On top of that, they were weirdly dense (which I really don’t understand, because there’s no reason any vegan cake-like bakery item can’t be just as fluffy as its non-vegan version).

Vegan vanilla and chocolate frostings were amazing. Cupcakes a little dense. Need more vegan cupcake flavors. Iced latte with oatmilk was delicious.

Molly’s Cupcakes - Edit
Molly’s only offers two vegan cupcake flavors, which are plain vanilla and plain chocolate. Honestly, I used to really love Molly’s cupcakes when I lived in Chicago but I’m quite surprised to see they have not elevated and expanded their vegan offerings. That said, this is great if you’re just looking for a plain Jane cupcake but there are other places in Chicago where you can find something a bit more interesting.
