Really nice place with great decor across the street from a lovely city park. I had the chickpea cutlet sandwich and it was delicious.

Exceptional - Edit
I loved everything about this place! The food was exceptional and nicely presented. Their menu had all vegan choices and the dessert menu was very tempting, but I was too full to partake. I will certainly go back!

This place is incredible. The food is beautiful and tastes just as good. The dessert and cocktails are amazing. I really enjoy their staple Mac and shews. I had a bao bun as an appetizer once and it blew me away! So good!

Great Place - Edit
Thankfully read about the reservations required on here before going. Food ranged from ok to great and service was fantastic! We had the buffalo wings, kale caesar, mushroom brie burger..and snickers pie. Wings were great, kale caesar and burger/fries were really salty (not sure why but someone in the kitchen really likes their salt). Snickers pie was to die for.

Wonderful dinner in a beautiful space - Edit
Pleasantly surprised to meet the famous cookbook author in her restaurant while in town for business, after just cooking a few of her recipes over the weekend! The fried mozzarella balls were decadent, the wine fantastic, and the legendary Mac and chew to die for. I wanted to try so many other things, but am only in town for one day. Totally recommend this place and hope to come back!

Spectacular!! - Edit
I love this place. I wanted to order one of everything on the menu it all looked mouthwatering. I may have to fly back here again just for Modern Love.
Read moreHad the Poutine Moderne which was amazing, so savory and delicious and a nice rendition of cheese. Great texture.
Also had the chickpea cutlet parm. Again: delicious. The tahini dresses salad of arugula and heirloom tomatoes was a perfect compliment.
Bring your appetite, portions are generous.
Will definitely be back next time I’m in Omaha!
Pros: All Vegan, Great comfort food lean, Fun vegan versions of classics!
Cons: Little on the pricey side (but so worth it), Reservations suggested (but so worth it)

I always order too much food because I can’t decide on just one meal. That way I have leftovers for the next day. The portions are great and the food is always amazing. The new place is beautiful.

Underwhelmed - Edit
I was so excited to eat here but when we got there, the restaurant was way too small and we were unaware that reservations were required. They sat us anyway, but we felt rushed and our waitress acted very cold towards us the whole time. The best thing was the snickers pie, absolutely delicious! Everything else was just ok, definitely not worth the price. There’s better vegan options out there for much cheaper. I would be willing to check out their new location, but I won’t have high expectations.

Disappointing food and a complete lack of friendly vibes - Edit
Sadly, this was one the least welcoming vegan places I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere was corporate, the warm, cozy friendliness so common amongst most vegan places was missing. The food was over-fried and overpriced, and if we ever pass Omaha again on our travels, we won’t be eating here again.

A must in dining experiences - Edit
Mike and I just got back from a road trip. The benefit of heavy traffic in Nebraska (a first for us) was that we were in Omaha at dinner time! This was mIke's first time here and my third.
Read moreWe LOVE Modern Love. The mac n schrews is perfect. So many flavors and textures. Love it. Every dessert I have ordered has been perfect, including the strawberry shortcake with lemon bundt cake this past visit.
Service is great, and friendly.
I could go on and on, but you get the drift. I would even say that Omaha is worth a visit if only to have a meal here!
Pros: All vegan, mac n shrews, Desserts
Cons: Small space (but moving to bigger space)

Honestly? Overrated - Edit
I was really looking forward to stopping here, and it was a total disappointment! Food lacked interest and was too salty (I had the mac n cheese) despite the intriguing ingredients listing. The only thing I really liked was the seitan buffalo wings. It was also overpriced for the quality. It was a busy monday and we didn't have a reservation, but luckily we were seated quickly. The space was small, parking was incredibly limited. Wasn't a great experience...

Vegans and nonvegans will love this place. If you miss being able to order pesto and/or gnocchi at restaurants, then definitely go to Modern Love. Brussels sprouts aioli were phenomenal, too. I’ll be back!

Awesome Place - Edit
Funny story....so I’ve had the vegan cookbooks of Isa’s before I knew she had a restaurant in Omaha. I used to live in Omaha for 7 years so I go back to see family and friends. I like to research veggie restaurants to visit and came across Modern Love. Each time I’d come to Omaha I’d never get the chance to visit and the last time I missed the chance I finally put the 2 together that the author of one of my favorite cookbooks, runs this restaurant! So the next time I came to town I made sure to visit and eat at this yummy establishment! Really great food and atmosphere!! Highly recommend it! Make sure to make reservations or you might wait a while!

Worth the trip! - Edit
Hands down the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been too! So many items to choose from. I’ve had pretty much everything on the menu and you can’t go wrong with any of it. You do need to call and make a reservation, though. This is a popular restaurant in Omaha and the dinning area is quite small so it fills up fast.

1st time but not gonna be the last! - Edit
I can not say enough great things about this place. The service was fast and friendly(even though we goofed and didnt make a reservation) but the I gotta say the food was the star. I got the seitan gyro and she got the mushroom schnitzel. The bite I had of hers was creamy and light. Mine though was like a vegan dream. To describe my joy is hard. They took every expectation and went so far beyond what I thought I wanted that I teared up a bit. We will be going back OFTEN. Its a bit pricey but by now most Vegan are used to that when it comes to eating out. ......OH and we also got a cup of the soup for an appetizer. Glam chowder, also beyond amazing!
