Absolutely amazing food! - Edit
From being seated to finishing breakfast this place was number 1! I would highly recommend anyone vegan or not to enjoy this gem.

Update: tried to give this place another go but was an hour to an hour and a half wait so we left. Half the tables were empty. So sad to see a business that you really want to see thriving losing out on business and alienating customers because it just can’t get organised.
Read moreOriginal: The outdoor patio and ambiance of this place are great. But we went on the first official opening day and things weren’t running too smoothly. We had to wait 1h 20 to even get in and then was a pretty long wait for service and food. It seemed they were overwhelmed and had inexperienced staff. When the food came it was excellent. So overlooking these other issues as they’re just getting started. Will come back when they’re more settled in.

Read moreWhich doesn’t matter because this place was god awful. We arrived at 11:30 am and were told there was a 30-45 minute wait which we agreed to. After 50 minutes passed, we had to get an update because we weren’t given one (via text) they seated us and by then it was 12:45 ish. We were super hungry by then, ordered our food and by 1:30 we still had no food. We asked how much longer and they expected us to wait 15 more minutes. What a waste of time considering we were only here for the day. So pissed off. People after us were being served left and right.

Let’s just say I loved this place. I went with a non vegan friend who’s trying to transition to a plant based diet. She wanted “breakfast” food so we went here. She loved the food and after we ate here she said “I think I can go Vegan if the food is this good!
Read moreFirst, there are very few vegan breakfast spots so this was the first positive. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a bar area. The food was amazing. Made me feel like my pre Vegan days being able to go to a breakfast restaurant!
I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich & a fruit bowl and my friend ordered the quesadilla, grits and a coffee. Both meals were amazing ! You can tell they take pride in their food. Staff was very friendly and this place also offers great coffee and beer and wine! When in Houston you must visit this place!!

In the building where Java Lava Brew was. The mushrooms and grits came out warm but not fresh off out of the fryer, they were Ok, but not amazing. The brussel sprouts were deep fried, also ok but not amazing. The hash was odd. Absolutely edible, but not worth rushing back for any time soon. If you're vegan for heath reasons, this is not the place. If you're an ethical vegan unconcerned about eating healthy, this place has a cool vibe and will fill you up!

I'm excited they opened a dine in breakfast/brunch spot! Food as expected was great. I dined at a slow time, so no service issues. However, it is pretty hot outside which may not be terribly comfortable. If your like me and not a mushroom lover, give it a chance. You can't tell the chikn is mushrooms.

My daughter and I drove 45min to try this place out and although we absolutely loved the food, lunch shouldn’t take 2.5 hours. Took at least 30min to get a drink I ordered and another 20min to get water. We were sitting on the patio in 90 degree weather and no fans. We honestly didn’t mind sitting outside since there was such a long wait for indoor seating, but we assumed we would get water soon after being seated. Even though several people were seated in our area soon after us, I think we were forgotten. They had all received and eaten their food long before ours ever arrived. Very disappointing. The food we ordered was very delicious though and we’ll give them another shot someday when we have a few hours.

I was debating on zucchini fritters and told the cashier. I wish she would have told me that my sandwich came with fries! Then I could have ordered the zucchini fritters!

After getting seated and ordering, we were left for over an hour without someone checking on us. The waitress made us all feel unwelcome. We had to ask other staff for assistance. The food was very good but the service ruined it.

Deliciously, tasty vegan comfort food in a chic casual setting in Houston's museum district, close to Third Ward, the Medical Center complex, & the metro rail line. Cozy indoor seating & two shaded outdoor patios. Small parking lot adjacent with nearby on street parking. By the folks who also do Houston Sauce Co & Houston Sauce Pit food trucks, so you know food is amazingly good. Filling portions, moderate to expensive prices. Great to have an all vegan restaurant with breakfast, lunch, early dinner. Good music; vinyl & tapes.

I went on grand opening day and as I expected the wait was long. Once I got seated my waitress was nice but she forget the waters she said she was going to bring to the table and she didn’t bring out silverware with the food once it came out. I’m sure the service will get better, working a grand opening probably isn’t the easiest thing. THE FOOD was exceptional; I had the chick’n fried shrooms and waffle with a side of grits. It was all seasoned to perfection!! I look forward to visiting them again in the future.
