Healthy and Declicious - Edit
The waitress was very helpful. I kept trying to order side dishes and she explained that the ones I was requesting would come with the order. Ultimately I just ordered the mixed grain bowl with tofu and a side of tofu pancakes. I was amazed at the variety of sides that came with it -- eight salads, all delicious, in small dishes, plus a bowl of miso soup, plus more salads and vegetables surrounding the rice in the main dish. I can't think when I've had a meal that was as healthy *and* delicious as this one. When the chef noticed that I had wolfed down the scrumptious cilantro salad, she brought me another one! I would definitely eat here often if I didn't live two hours away.

Best Korean Food Experience - Edit
Vegan options clearly labeled, everything except the pancakes was AMAZING (I've had Korean pancakes before and they are usually the highlight of every meal, these were dry discs from which one bite was more than enough), but.. the stew and the noodles and all the endless side dishes .. best meal ever!

Love this place! - Edit
I take my mother here several times each month after doctor appointments in Walnut Creek. What I love about Korean restaurants is the precious variety of side dishes that accompany your meal called banchan. Please don't even consider skipping these delicious (and refillable) morsels as they really compliment the meal and are usually all vegan! They can include bean sprouts, broccoli pieces, pickles radish, kale, kimchi, etc.
Read moreMy go-to order is the Veggie Japchae with steamed tofu and Sizzling Works (without egg) with purple rice. I love Japchae and can eat it every day! The combination of the glass noodles, vegetables, and tofu are wonderful and I usually order this "mild," which means it'll have a bit of a spicy bite to it and is fantastic. Glass noodles are made of mung bean starch, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and/or tapioca. The purple rice is a must at this place, don't even bother with the white rice! The purple rice is a mixed grain that the restaurant is named for and it's particularly good in the stone bowl that gives the rice a crispy shell at the bottom.
My mom has tried soft tofu stew, spicy ramen, and Korean noodle soup. Being Japanese, she is very picky about her noodle dishes and is usually disappointed with her meal.....and then she ends up eating my Japchae!
The service is great and don't forget to start off with their hot tea and miso soup, always a treat! I appreciate that they always ask for your proof of vaccination and offer both indoor and outside seating.
Pros: Side dishes, Service, Prices are very reasonable

Good vegan options - Edit
Their menu is marked with vegan options now. Had bibimba with mung beans pancake instead of tofu. Never seen that option before which is nice.:)

Confusing but has potential - Edit
I went with my husband and son who had been there before. I had not and was confused by the sides that came out and also by the menu. I finally figured out that vg means vegan. So, i ordered a vegan Veggie Soft Tofu Stew. All of our dishes arrived with an egg on top or, as in my case, a raw egg in a bowl. My bowl was so hot that I had to wait quite a while to eat. I ended up taking part of it home (still hot). I assume they make it sizzling in order to cook the egg in the broth. That makes me question how vegan-friendly they are. Also, there were some language barriers (such as when I tried to get more water). That being said, the food was good, but I would like to see a vegan section of the menu. Otherwise, you are never sure what to order. With some effort this company could show that they are truly committed to providing vegan food. At least the servers are kind and attentive. They really listened to my concerns and tried to make things right.

Cons: The side dishes vary so you soemhting with meat , The menu is confusing and hard to read
