Beloved vegan bakery - Edit
I’ve been a fan of miss chickpea since their pop up days!! I miss their cozy small shop near sprouts, but it’s amazing they expanded. I’ve tried nearly every sweet on the menu but poptarts are my go to. Sadly their gansitos went up to $5 for a small, skinny slice and I can’t justify buying them. I have noticed a tiny dip in quality—the icing on the almond cookies no longer spreads to the edges of the cookie and is concentrated in the middle, like they’re skimping on the icing. Similarly, the icing on the pop tarts doesn’t quite reach the edges. I’m paying $6 for a treat so I expect icing to be applied liberally 😂

One of my favorite Vegan spots so far! Baked goods are awesome, only to be outdone by the fantastic service and employee that work there! Papusas are good, likes the bean and cheese the best! Fruit tarts rock! Can’t wait to go back.

Must try!!! :) - Edit
Oh. My. Goodness!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I've been vegan for several years & have tried tons of places, I can't believe how tasty their items are. My boyfriend (he's not vegan) and I are frequent customers. Our favorites are the cinnamon bun (perfect size & not too sweet. Still Tastes great reheated in the microwave) & their croissants. Wow! They taste amazing on their own or as a sandwich. we now place an order in advance, so we can make breakfast or lunch sandwiches.
Read moreAll of their kolaches are delicious. Cupcakes are great too. I love their strawberry cupcake, it's not too sweet & it's very moist. We've also tried their chick'n' biscuits sandwich w/ jam. I can go on and on😄you just have to try their amazing creations. we arrive pretty early in the morning, as there are fewer options later in the day. They're entire staff are friendly and welcoming. Im so happy we have Miss Chickpeas in SA!!
Pros: Variety of options , Friendly staff, Excellent food

pricey but worth it - Edit
I've been here quite a bit. It's expensive and almost always crowded. They also sell out fast on some items. But, this is a testament to the food.
Read moreDonuts are good and chewy cake donuts. I normally don't like cake donuts but they're actually really good. I've only ever had one that wasn't good and I think that was because someone spiled lavender oil on it. It was like biting into a solid lavender cake.
Kolaches. Be still my Texas heart. Size-wise, they are more big and flat like pocket sandwiches rather than small and fat like Kolache Factory would make. The pizza pocket is really tasty but about half the time the pepperoni will come in one giant lump. A tasty lump, but a lump none the less. Bean and cheese are my go-to choice.
Toaster pastries. Crazy overpriced but my god are they good. Super flaky and filled with real fruit.
Macarons. Just the right combination of fluffy and crispy.
Custom cakes. We've done two birthday cakes here. They can make literally anything you ask for flavor and decoration wise. My only complaint is they are crazy sorts of dense. I don't know if it's because they are gluten-free but they still taste great. Honestly, they're probably the best buy there.
Chicken agave sandwiches. Heaven, pure and simple heaven. They are just the right size and taste amazing. Not to chickeney, not too sweet. A really great balance.
The wife and kids love the place. Work got them to provide food for our office on my birthday and the omnis vacuumed up the food. People were shocked it was vegan.
Pros: big variety of baked goods, kolaches kolaches kolaches
Cons: pricey, they sell out fast sometimes

Vegan bakery! - Edit
Finally got a chance to visit this morning and got a huge haul of stuff! They were very busy too, basically about to sell out of stuff so I'm so glad they are being supported by the community. My favorite thing was probably the chicken biscuit, again everything here is vegan so it's not actual chicken but damn it was good! This place is entirely vegan and it's really amazing that they have so many options and different kinds of items. They even do cakes so I'm thinking I need to put in an order for my birthday!

LOVE THIS PLACE - Edit
This little bakeshop is such a gem. The owner is so nice & they put a lot of love into their goods. You can tell they are super knowledgeable on vegan baking & the macarons are UNMATCHED. The best macaron I've had in my life (even before vegan) hands down. The pop tarts are by far my favorite menu item since they have the perfect buttery, flaky dough and the right amount of sweetness. The kolaches are a close second. Definitely give this place a try!

Nope! Not going again. - Edit
This place was recommended to me numerous times, and it did not live up to expectations! Maybe I experienced a bad day because all of these reviews are so positive, but I really did not enjoy this place.
Read moreLimited seating, long wait, over-prices, negative atmosphere, no restroom, and rude staff (Except this blonde lady, who made my experience like 25% decent)! I think the worker at the counter really ruined my experience. She wouldn’t even answer me when I asked what the different coffees were (because you know, I don’t see a “Bruce Lee” everywhere). She was very slow and it was obvious that she did not want to be there. I won’t be returning for these bakery items, which makes me really sad because I was so excited.
If you decide to go: the sticky bun is great, tarts are “meh” (not worth it), coffee is ridiculously priced for the tiny cup, and the kolache is tasty, but not worth $6.
Pros: Has air conditioning , Variety of milks for drinks
Cons: Not welcoming / bad atmosphere , The staff was rude and slow

Go here! - Edit
Finally made it there and I’m so glad I did! Bought every flavor of kolache, a papusa, a double-chocolate chip cookie, and a blueberry poptart. My husband had the hatch chili kolache for lunch and I had the papusa, then we shared some of the poptart. EVERYTHING was excellent and I can’t wait to eat the rest! This place isn’t on my beaten path, but you can bet I’m going to find a way to get over there as often as I can!

Baked goodness! - Edit
Our vegan family of 5 had a picnic! We got a little bit of everything and it was GOOD! The Gansito tasted like the real deal (from what I could remember), loved the strawberry cream cheese danish and also enjoyed the strawberry walnut donut! The barbacoa Kolache was our favorite and the pizza pocket came in 2nd—but still delicious! Everything was fresh! We will come back when we visit San Antonio again!!

Tasty kolaches! - Edit
This little bakery just opened and is tucked away in a nondescript corner of the Sprouts shopping center on Callaghan. Everything is vegan. I had the most delicious jalapeño cheddar kolache that tasted just like I recall meat-based kolaches tasting. Juicy faux sausage encased in buttery-soft dough that leaves grease stains on the paper bag. So nostalgic. I will be back.
