Great food good vibes!

We ordered the Almuerzo (set lunch menu) and the Arroz with vegan Pork. The Almuerzo was good but for $4 maybe a bit overpriced. The arroz was super tasty, filling and the vegan meat was delish! Lemonade was okay.

Pros: Tasty vegan pork , Filling dishes

Cons: A bit pricey

Set meal of the day

This is a vegetarian restaurant that can easily be vegan. They have a meal of the day so you just ask for the vegan meal of the day and they super friendly. Today for $4 we got a drink of choice, delicious soup, spaghetti with soy meatballs, cooked veggies, a yummy bread thing, a salad and then a fruit salad.

They also have a counter where they sell tofu and many veggie based “meats”

Great Asian food

Great menu for 4 dollars with a soup, main dish, fruits, and a drink (juice, tea, or soy milk). Very filling, healthy and great flavours, will definitely go back! It's quite a big place so not very cosy if that's what you look for but the service is very quick.

Huge serves, full of flavor

Not knowing the serves were really big, we ordered spicy wonton soup, curry with crumbed 'steak', and sweet and sour 'chicken'. Each dish had a lot of flavor. I just wish the vegan options (or those that could be made vegan) were clearly marked on the menu. They seem to use a lot of egg in dishes.

Cons: Lack of vegan dessert options

Great service

Since we work close by we came here for lunch. The lunch menu costs around 4 dollars and includes a small soup and a drink and they serve it really fast. My friends got the menu (from what I tried it tasted good) and they let me unpack my own meal that I had brought from home so that I could join my friends. The only restriction: that also had to be vegetarian. Therefore recommendable as a lunch place with colleagues.

Pros: Fast service, Let's you bring your own tupper (with veg food)

Cons: Not the biggest dishes, Only open at lunch time

I always repeat the soup!

Very nice Chinese vegetarian lunches with soup, head course and dessert for just a couple of dollars! The soups are extremely tasty, and I always ask for second one. Head course usually brown rice with cooked veggies, and a salsa with soya or gluten mixed with veggies and usually something baked or fried with it such as an empanada or fried banana. The dessert is very tiny but healthy. I think its very tasty and you can eat very well in this place. The lunch room is clean and service is friendly and quick. I often ask for the vegan version too, which is the same with just a few tiny modifications.

Pros: Cheap & tasty, Nice clean lunch room, Vegan option is great too

Cons: Nothing really

Chinese veg*n cuisine in the Mariscal

Mile Time is a relatively new and slightly upmarket place in the Mariscal district. A majority of the dishes seem to be vegan, though there are a number of them that include eggs and some may have dairy, and the menu doesn't make it 100% clear, so vegans are advised to enquire. The very friendly owners speak English, but most of the servers don't (and even if asked in Spanish which of the dishes are vegan, they aren't necessarily sure but are happy to go ask).

The menu offers several pages of options — mostly Chinese but with a nod to other Asian flavors and even a couple of Latin-influenced items. The two dishes i tried were tasty and well-prepared. The place seems reasonably health-conscious, though if you wish to minimize or avoid oil, it may require some conversation.

There are fresh juices on offer, which i always appreciate. They don't advertise using any organic ingredients (as Quinua and El Maple do), so it might be worth offering the owners some encouragement.

The atmosphere is very pleasant, with a large inner dining room and a smaller breezy verandah. At lunch, the place is packed with middle-class locals enjoying the set lunch specials.

Prices are a little higher than the local norm (closer to what one would pay in the US), but i found it reasonable considering the pleasant, modern atmosphere and the very kind owners.

It's conveniently located in front of the triangular park where Baquerizo diverges from Luis Cordero, and being next-door to a police station can't hurt from a safety perspective.

Pros: Extensive menu with ample vegan options, daily set lunch menu, nice atmosphere and location

Cons: More expensive than nearby veg places, confirming what's vegan takes effort
