Great desserts, disappointing mains - Edit
The food is far from bad, but for the price it’s just not impressive. We got loads of small plates but nothing blew us away. The focaccia bread was a joke — 4 tiny pieces of thinly cut toasted bread. The desserts on the other hand were amazing and I’d probably come back just for that. The service was also really strange, like everyone was new and no one knew what to do.

Good food and relaxed vibe - Edit
We got the kimchi fried rice, mushroom pot pie and tiramisu and the latter two were great! The rice was kind of dryhard like they might have used basmati rice - hopefully I'm wrong because that doesn't really work too well. Anyway, the staff were friendly, service was pretty quick and portion sizes were large. It was very full on a Tuesday night with good vibes which was encouraging to see. The only thing I'll mention is that there was an optional 12.5% service charge that was added to our bill without specifying what it was for but this was our first meal in London so I'm not sure if that's a "tip" or something else.

I made a reservation but I didn't need to, it was only about half full when I went in on a late weekend night. I had the risotto balls as an appetizer followed by udon with a creamy sesame broth. Both were so well done! Finished with the creme brulee with cherry compote which was phenomenal. Service was quick and friendly.

Relaxing vibe and cozy food - Edit
Came on a Saturday night and got a table for myself, but it did seem busy so a reservation might be needed for larger groups. I got the kimchi gyoza, mahkani tofu, and the cherry saffron creme brûlée (so hard to find vegan creme brûlée, and this one was excellent!!!). Everything was brilliant, and the vibe was very soothing and cozy for a late night dinner - low lights and candles at every table, sort of a wine bar vibe. Staff was lovely as well.

The food was great, almost same as in Soho but the rest was definitely not as excellent. The staff was slow (we were waiting for ordering all the time - with drinks, meals and desserts too), we had to wait for our reserved table, one of the staff member was rude, the atmosphere is opposite to coziness of Soho...

I used to love this place but year after year the menu becomes super boring and flavourless. It’s way too expensive for what it si, maybe if it hadn’t become a chain it would still offer the same quality food as before?

This only thing worth eating there still are the pancakes. Went twice during the same week to try different stuff but wasn’t impressed. The waitresses are always rude apart from Iris who works in Camden. Always feels like they are annoyed to work. Once i payed with a gift card and i felt as if i had insulted them…
Don’t think i will be going back next time i am in Ldn and it’s breaking my heart as it used to be my absolutely favourite place.

One point deducted for the following minor points: they ran out of Yorkshire puds (aggggggh!), the potatoes were clearly from a catering pack (shame as a couple were not Cooked through), not enough gravy and the Negroni was not worth the price tag. Oh and the crème brûlée was a little bland.
But don’t let that put you off because the rest of the food was really tasty 😋
Pros: Lovely staff 😃, Tasty food , Good VFM!
Cons: No yorkies left!!!!! , Bad acoustics!! Loud but got better as folks left., Meh Negroni!

Breakfast of champions! - Edit
This is our second time eating at Mildreds (the last time in Camden last year). Last time we had the caramelised biscuit pancakes and English breakfast and we remember it being really good but maybe lacking something for the price, but there wasn’t anything wrong as such we just weren’t blown away…). But this time at King’s Cross, we had the full English breakfast and meze brunch and absolutely loved everything! It was so yummy. I thought it was presented well in separate little bowls, but my partner prefers everything together on one plate, each to their own! The coffees are a little small (we prefer more coffee in the morning), but delicious. We will definitely come back!

I haven‘t heard of Mildreds before, but was close to my Hotel in Hackney. I thought there menu was pretty limited but the Burger was pretty pretty amazing. All the ingredients were really fresh and I liked the Bun. Will definitely go again.

The service is really switched on and energetic without any sense of being rushed. Simply enough people to be able to deliver attentiveness.
