great faux meat / faux fish options

It's true - almost every dish on the regular menu can be prepared with faux meat or fish. The "chicken" salad is almost creepy, since the texture and taste of the faux chicken strips is eerily close to real chicken (or my memory of it). The grilled "salmon" looks a lot like salmon fillet (it even has a sort of "skin" made from nori) and tastes delicious (if not really anything like fish). Other vegan options include awesome cucumber and avocado maki (maybe the best in town) and a nice selection of desserts (especially the different kinds of sticky rice balls). All in all, it was a very pleasant evening out.

ETA: In the meantime, we have also tried the running sushi, and it's our favourite ever. All vegan "meat" options are on red plates, so even if it looks eerily like meat, you cannot make a mistake. Lots of other vegan options, including desserts.

Expensive TVP

I visited it one Saturday afternoon, so there was no buffet.

I ordered avocado sushi maki (without mayonnaise) and vegan chicken tempura. Avocado maki were good, but avocado could have been riper. Chicken tempura was TVP chunks breaded and fried until dark brown. I wasn't impressed. I got cabbage and mung bean sprout salad with the tempura and it was good. For a TVP dish, it wasn't exactly cheap.

I might try it again, but every time I visit Graz, I tend to eat at Ginko.

Pros: great selection of vegan dishes, vegan immitations of various meats

Cons: expensive for what they offer

Disconcertingly like the real thing

Like some other reviewers I found the food very like the real stuff, so much so that I didn't really enjoy - in particularly the battered calamari; the salmon was better. Also very oily. I ate here a second night because it's the only place open on Sunday, but actually wished I had not. However if you like East Asian cuisine and have meat withdrawal symptoms this may be a great place for you.

Pros: Unusual mock meat dishes

Nice to have a meal there

I like the place, it's very clean and bland. Normally serving meat and/or fish, they offer several vegetarian and vegan meals too.

You usually order by menucard, where you got several options between all-vegetable and fake meat/fish meals.

For lunch there's a nice buffet (6.90 Euro) mixed with meat-, vegetarian- and vegan dishes.
Vegan options inlcude: miso-soup, chinese noodles, spring rolls, vegetables (eggplant in garlic sauce, beans etc), tofu-dishes, fake-meat dishes, sauces, vegan sushi and maki, desserts, salads. There's plenty of options to choose from. They even have vegan baked bananaes for dessert and fruits that I can only recommend (no honey but caramelized sugar).
Vegan and vegetarian meals are clearly declared!

The fake meat/fish dishes really do look and taste like real meat/fish (as much as i can remember), though they are 100% vegetarian/vegan.

The food tastes very good and is freshly made. It's a nice place where you have a nice evening.

The place itself is located in the oldtown, has a warm and comfortable atmosphere and is never too crowded, ideal for those who like it more silent and realxed.

Note: Restaurant's closed on mondays!

very cheap buffet

We ate there at lunch and we paid 7.90 each a quite big vegan buffet all-you-can-eat style. Only two dishes were vegetarian, everything else was vegan! Great!

Pros: cheap, wide choice, position
