Amazing food, friendly service - Edit
The food here was so good. I had the first vegetarian cuban sandwich of my life, and it was delicious. You can get a combo meal along with the sandwich that comes with a side salad and a drink for around 250 NTD. The salad was small, but very fresh and with a tasty dressing. I would consider getting an entree salad, it was that good. I got a cappuccino for my drink which was yummy and not too foamy. The owners are also super friendly. Can’t recommend enough!

Great find in Taichung - Edit
The Cuban sandwich was awesome, and the empanadas and Hawaiian pizza were also solid. The “meat” used in the Cuban was especially good, not the usual Taiwanese mock meat. Owner/cook was super friendly too.

Vegetarian fusion with heart - Edit
The couple who owns Mes Cafe is very sweet and well-traveled. The husband has lots of experience teaching farming practices to residents of other continents, and they source their coffee beans from farms that they visit in person. The food items are eclectic: other than different flavors of pastas and risottos (most of which can be made vegan), they also cook up options like San Tome pizza, Argentinian empanadas, Honduran burrito, Cubano sandwich, and Portuguese omelette, just to name a few. The baby leaf salad is packed full of nutrients and can be ordered a la carte or as a combo addition to an entree. Many coffee and tea options are on the menu, too. They also sell cute, handmade mugs and other pottery items on the shelf just outside the cafe.

Cons: most dishes and drinks contain dairy, small portions, a bit pricey
