Not much to see but lots of dead animals

Too many animal products displayed, not a great experience for vegans. Juices are good but it's a simple fruit juice, nothing special about it and they are all in plastic cups with straws. Vegan empanada was good but reheated in a microwave, so a bit sad and wobbly.

Tourists' market...

Can't believe this one is on Happycow😜this place is a VERY touristic market for, well, tourists. Would not recommend it to my worst enemy! Talking about that, be very careful with the pickpockets there, this is Barcelona...

Fruits, vegetables, juices

I really enjoyed all the fruit, vegetables and juice options, but due to the fact that most shops mostly offer dishes with meat/ egg/milk containments, I can’t recommend the market hall to someone who is interested in eating a full meal there.

Touristy place

Food here is not for vegans, plane and simple. You'll see a lot of meat and fish to get to the plant based food. The only vegan options you'll find is fresh juices and fruit, french fries and a couple stands have falafel, padrón peppers and vegan paella but I found those quite expensive for the amount of food you get. You can get cheaper falafel literally anywhere else in the city. There are some vegetarian options like salty puff pastries, empanadas and corn dogs. I enjoyed the food I had there but again, it was vegetarian and not vegan.

great fruits

I personally love this market, it is a go to stop for me when visiting Barcelona! I will warn that the further into this market you go the more you find tons of meat and fish everywhere. But near the beginning are tons of amazing fruits, veggies, juices, nuts, mushrooms, etc. I love stopping by for a cup of fruit or juice. I liked the vegan empanadas I got too. Great place to stop for a snack.

Pros: lots of fruit and veg, some vegan prepared food options

Cons: lots of meat and fish in the market, very busy and crowded

Not the best experience for a vegan

Not much options, my vegan Empanada was not very special or tasty. Not very vegan friendly to See all the dead animals around (inkl. Sheep-Heads etc.) Who can not handle this should not visit this place.

Great tourist market experience

The juice was amazing and about half the stalls in the market had them all at €2 so you just need to walk around and choose your favourite flavour. I managed to find a vegan empanada that was full of veggies and was amazing. There was also lots of different potato selections and I did find a vegan burrito as well.

Tourist market experience

We had fun walking around this expansive market. In the end, among the prepared appetizers and entrees to go, there was limited vegan options, and what was vegan repeated itself from one stand to another, especially with the fruit drinks and spiraled fried potato on a stick. Still it’s a worthwhile tourist experience to visit.

Pros: Fun food displays , Popular tourist destination

Cons: Limited vegan options , Repetition of food offerings among vendors
