Great choices!

Heaps of vegan options with unique flavours. Not what I was expecting when the tofu nuggets came out, but definitely didn’t disappoint!

Pros: Many options , Reasonable price

Excellent!

What a gorgeous little restaurant. Multiple vegan options clearly labelled on the menu. Super friendly staff who are well vegucated. I had the mushroom CKT and my husband had the char ho fun: both of which were absolutely delicious! Perfect portion sizes too. Absolutely would come back here.

Flavoursome

Loved the flavours in everything we ordered. The greens were delicious (not pictured). Smokey, delicately flavoured noodles were more soupy than expected, but the broth was delicious. Roti was fresh and crispy. The crispy tofu was nice, although would have preferred more tofu, less salad,.
Service was great, and comfortably cosy seating. Great menu with vegan items clearly marked. The cocktails looked amazing too.

Not a bad spot!

Great value for money to be had at Merah. Plenty of vegan options to choose from!

The food was of great quality, we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered.

The main front restaurant was full so we ate in the heated rear courtyard which was very pleasant despite it being cold in Melbourne on the night.

Service was reasonable, we had a good night, definitely recommend it if you're vegan looking for a decent dinner that can cater for carnists as well.

Will be back for sure

Pros: Decent array of vegan options , Nice outdoor courtyard w heaters, Food was delicious

Cons: Serves animal products

unique, tasty bites

Came here with a friend for a post-lockdown celebratory meal. Firstly, I really enjoyed the interior. It’s light and spacious. But the chairs have low side bars, which is not comfy for big butts, because they cut in right where you spread. I had to swap spots with my thinner friend on the bench seat.

We ordered 2 entrees, 2 mains, and 1 side to share. We wondered if we might have over ordered but the serving sizes were on the smaller side so we finished full, but not stuffed and it was nice to try a variety of dishes.

The tofu nuggets, as mentioned, are unique and delicious. I honestly can’t say I’ve ever tried anything like them. The crystal dumplings lacked flavour, even though the menu said they were spicy. They were sitting on a bed of some sort of chilli sauce but it didn’t pack a punch. The char ho fun had tender slippery rice noodles swimming in a pool of mushroom gravy that managed to be rich and umami while not too salty. The sticky sesame cauliflower was battered, deep fried, and tossed in plum sauce that was sweet without much depth of flavour. A side of green beans provided a crunchy balance. My dining partner is not a fan of mushrooms but I would love to try the mushroom CKT next time.

It’s a cute destination for a date or slightly special dinner. We dressed up a bit because we felt like it but would’ve felt equally comfortable if we hadn’t.

One of my faves in the area

Great selection of Malaysian foods - and really nice to see some unique vegan options plus a great laksa.

The tofu bites aren't what you're expecting, but they are delicious.

The veggie sides are well worth your time

Awesome vegan laksa!

One of the few relatively authentic vegan laksas available in Melbourne

Pros: Laksa!, Tofu balls, Mushroom dumplings

Cons: Decor is a bit “stark” - not super warm
