Heart opening beautiful staff, quiet cafe & yummy food - Edit
Whilst travelling in Amed when I feel like retreating into a brightly coloured cocoon, I choose Melon Cafe, it's decor is uplifting, it's air conditioned & whilst right on the road, it's so quiet. I've eaten lots of vegan options here over my visits. I've eaten mains, snacks & smoothie bowls. My partner had cinnamon porridge on our last visit. I also enjoy the view whilst sipping my tea from a glass teapot & mug.

Tofu Katsu + Mie Goreng - Edit
Even though I ate here several times, I always ordered the same 2 dishes. Tofu Katsu fingers and Mie Goreng. The tofu katsu fingers are the perfect appetizer, not too filling but also enough to leave you satisfied. The barbecue sauce is the best dip for those and if you need more they don't hesitate to bring you another little bowl.
Read moreIf you want to order the Mie Goreng you have to come with lots of space in your tummy because the portion is huge. Just let them know you're vegan so they leave out the egg. I have to say this was one of the best Mie Goreng I've ever had.
If you stay in the homestay attached to the restraurant you get free breakfast there but unfortunately nothing was vegan..
Also I have to mention how sweet and kind the service was. They were so nice and always there to help you.

It was very easy to swap out egg for tempe/tofu, also to remove any honey from smoothies.
This is also 1 of the only places with air-conditioning and lots of power outlets.
Only complaint is lack of privacy; you cannot have any secret conversations in here 😆
