Solid vegan choices fell on GF crust - Edit
They had great options for CYO vegan pizza but the GF crust was thin and dry; more like a cracker. Wish some places could do better with this option for many of us

I love this place. Everything from their pizza, apps, and hoagies. Make sure to veganize your pizza - so you don't get a butter crust, and obviously to get vegan cheese. Go very light on the amount of vegan cheese, because it can be very overwhelming on the pizza, and becomes wet and a mess.

I’d give these guys 5 stars if the app let me. I went for the jerky tempeh pizza with veggies and I loved it. The unsweetened ice tea was really good as well. Definitely one to go back to, next time I’m in Wilmington.

Place is great the only thing is everything is pretty bland they slap some vegan cheese on whatever you ordered and send it out, would like to see some veggies or something be included instead of stacking on extra pricing for them, just to help add flavor.

If I am having a craving for pizza, I know I can’t go wrong with Mellow Mushroom! I love eating out on the patio and ordering myself a pie with Vegan Cheese (my server told me they use Vegan Gourmet Shreds and I have mimicked this pizza at home to a T, so good), pineapple, mushrooms, and spinach!! Double Yum!!

I call this the Port City Vegan special: pizza with no butter, no parm; add light vegan cheese, tempeh, onions, Kalamata olives, and pineapple. SO GOOD. And there are lots of other vegan options (sandwiches, hummus, etc.) too. The downside? Having to smell all of the non-vegan stuff when you dine in the restaurant. That's no fun.

If you are keeping it vegan, order the Mega-Veggie pizza, and ask to make it vegan (no butter, no parmesan). The Dayia soy cheese is great for this option and this is one of the few local restaurants has this vegan cheese choice.

I've been to Mellow Mushroom many times. I truly appreciate when I ask servers for a vegan pizza they know what I'm talking about. I usually get a vegan pizza with spinach, broccoli, tempeh, and vegan (Daiya) cheese. Yum.
