Always a good option for vegan pizza - Edit
Though I am not a fan of the Gatlinburg “strip”, it’s worth navigating the crowds and traffic for yummy vegan pizza. There is non-dairy cheese plus a wide assortment of veggie options. They are careful not to put butter or Parmesan on the crust for anyone who orders non-dairy cheese.

We built our own vegan pizza (with vegan cheese!) and it was phenomenal! You can also get some moonshine in a souvenir jar ;). The vibe of the restaurant is very cool and the waitstaff we had was awesome!

There were a few options as the dough is Vegan and they have Vegan cheese. I had the Shitake something (I forgot) which is in the photo! It was DELICIOUS. They run large on size and are a little pricey but EVERYTHING is in that town.

I ate here twice during my stay in Gatlinburg, since there aren’t many options around. Nothing on the menu was marked vegan, so I had to modify the veg-out pizza by asking for Follow Your Heart cheese. I also added tempeh for protein.

I was really impressed with the pizza I ordered! I would say this is definitely one of the best vegan pizzas I’ve ever had. I’m not much of a crust person, but I absolutely loved the crust on this pizza! I had tempeh, jalapeño peppers, and garlic roasted peppers as my toppings. So good!

So I went on their website ahead of time. Scroll to the bottom and you can click 'Vegan' and it will actually tell you what is vegan so you don't have to mess around asking waiters. Also, when I went just two days ago and today both waiters knew exactly what Vegan was and wanted to make sure my order was correct and were very friendly. I'll definitely be back on our next trip. They have large Vegan pretzels, vegan cheese to go with the Vego pizza, yummy. Greek salad and another one. More I believe but didn't have a chance to try

My vegan family of 4 enjoyed our upizza here, and I was able to get a gluten free vegan crust. Our waitress was friendly and even verified that my favorite topping (sauteed onions) was vegan (they were). They had lots of vegan toppings, and vegan cheese.

I ordered the vegan avocado hoagie, which I used to get at MM years ago before I was vegan—just as good vegan as I remember! I ordered over the phone to add grilled green pepper and mushroom, which you can't add online. When I picked up my order (upstairs bar), I was informed that the pesto sauce is also vegan and did I want a side (the guy who helped me was super nice). 😌 It's so good with the pesto!! They also have a tempeh hoagie and vegan pizzas.

Our server was quite possible one of the worst servers we’ve ever had. Had absolutely no idea what was on the menu, what vegan meant, etc. We would ask questions and he would literally just stare back at us for 5-10 seconds. He forgot dishes constantly, brought us the wrong food several times, and seemed extremely airheaded. Manager had to intervene more than once.

If you’re vegan, I would suggest doing the build your own pizza and adding vegan ingredients to it. I would not trust other things on the menu. We asked the manager what else was vegan and he told us “well, everything on the menu can be made vegan if you remove the non vegan stuff”. Uhhh, yeah. Thanks dude.

Gatlinburg’s vegan game is WEAK.😭 It’s a vegan desert here and Mellow Mushroom is pretty much the only solid option for a warm vegan lunch.

2) Specify vegan crust - some of their pizza crust contains garlic butter.
3) You can swap out any cheese for vegan cheese (they have Follow your Heart).
I got the VegOut pizza veganized, and it was satisfying. I love their pizza crust.

The veg out with vegan cheese is fantastic! There is also a hummus appetizer with pita and cucumbers as well as a Greek salad (no feta). Mellow Mushroom is our favorite restaurant for ease of ordering and tasty vegan choices.

This pizza was so good we went a second time and ordered the same thing! The pizza crust is fluffy, great crisp under it, and cooked perfectly. The cheese was such a great texture, the toppings just the right amount! Each menu will be unique, so menus are best viewed at the location you’re at. Online ordering for build your own pizza and staple menu items is an option as well. Reading the menu is a little confusing; they list vegan options but don’t mark items as vegan, just vegetarian or “lacto-ovo” or gluten-free. You MUST customize your order for it to be vegan. Some pizzas have a buttered crust, so I found it easiest to start the order with the “I’m a vegan”. You can replace any cheese with Follow Your Heart mozzarella. Vegan speciality toppings include tofu and tempeh, but not a generous portion or seasoned particularly well.

It was my first time visiting mellow mushroom after driving by them multiple times. My first visit wasn't that pleasant. Our waiter hardly came by to check on us and you barely seen any workers besides the people at the front when you walked in. It was a very big restaurant and played really good music. They had 1 or 2 Vegan options besides your regular salad and fries deal. They had a lot of vegetarian options.
