Good vegan food - Edit
We really liked the food here. It’s a very chilled out vibe with nice service. We had a red curry & a panang curry which were both lovely, but there was no spice at all, they were very mild. If you like spice make sure you ask for spicy otherwise you’re not getting any chillies. The banana blossom fritters were good too!

Brilliant and informative cooking class - Edit
We did an afternoon cooking class with Diana. She was brilliant - friendly, fun and she taught us so much about Thai cooking - creating different bases and pastes for all sorts of dishes. We ended up making 11 different dishes (this includes 5 variations of Tom yum). It was also quite professional - she gave us a little recipe booklet for us to take notes on and take home. I can’t wait to try these dishes out when I get home! 100% recommend if you really want to understand how to cook Thai dishes.

This was truly the best tasting, most authentic vegetarian Thai food I had in Chiang Mai! It will be the first place I eat next time I’m there.

Favorite dish in Chiang Mai so far - Edit
I love the May Kaidee in NYC so I was super excited to stop by here. I got the Pad Kee Mao and requested very spicy and they truly accommodated my request. I really enjoyed the dish. I also liked the papaya salad and the Paneang curry. I did find the smoothie a little disappointing though. The Thai tea is good but sweet. I would definitely come back

Good food, weird atmosphere - Edit
The food was good, I really enjoyed the fried spring rolls, and the pad Thai was good, although there was barely any peanut sauce! The fish cakes definitely weren’t what I was expecting, they were very thin and didn’t taste like fish at all.
Read moreI did find the atmosphere in there a bit weird, it was absolutely empty, and the server was singing and drumming his fingers waiting for us to order, which was a bit off putting when trying to have a conversation. I also found him a bit rude as he cut me off when I was trying to order multiple items, and didn’t give any acknowledgement when I asked for no egg in the pad Thai.

Tasty - Edit
Good quality food, very tasty. Portions a little small for me personally. A very small restaurant, only a handful of tables, sometimes you might have to wait to be seated.

I ate there before to decide if I should book the vegan thai cooking class. Turned out I liked the food very much, so I booked the cooking class (for 1500 Baht) and it was a great experience.

Nice little restaurant not far from old town - Edit
I think the food is geared towards tourists as it was very mild on spice.
Read moreWe asked for added chilli/spice and even using it all the food was still not spicy. That's a good thing if Thai spicy food is a bit much for you.
The flavours were great, service was excellent.

Great food but small portions - Edit
I would normally order only two dishes but this time I really couldn't choose because everything on the menu looked good. I'm glad I decided to order three dishes instead of two because three was just enough for my partner and I. They all tasted great!

Delicious, authentic, great value for money and in a nice spot away from the main road. All the dishes we had were amazing. I can recommend the noodles with peanut sauce and the sushi rolls, and my partner really loved the Khao Soy.

Restaurant and Class Review - Edit
We had our favorite Khao Soi and mango sticky rice at May Kaidee! The food was absolutely delicious and a short walk from our hotel, Away-Vegan Resort.
Read moreWe also enrolled in the 4 hour Thai cooking class and had the best time with Diana teaching us the ropes. She was a hoot and we learned so much about the basics of Thai cooking. We got a recipe booklet to take home and we had plenty of leftovers. It was such a great activity and would highly recommend taking a class!

Long wait, weird atmosphere, bland - Edit
We love the May Kaidee in Bangkok and were really disappointed by the Chiang Mai branch. The waiters were cold and distant, the food was mediocre at best and we had to wait for over an hour to get all our food. Some came after 10 minutes, my daughter had to wait a really long time, which was really frustrating.
Read moreThe pumpkin hummus was really good, everything else was not well seasoned or even bland. The drinks were good, though.

Awesome cookery class - Edit
We did the half day cookery class and had the same instructor as we did 5 years ago - Nim! She made learning to cook Thai vegan fun and we even did a little dance and song at the end😄Class was from 9am to 1pm, emphasis very much on teamwork rather than solo so got to taste everyone's version. Dishes made included peanut sauce, green & red chiili paste, 'seafood' sauce, pad thai, fresh spring rolls (omg), papaya salad, green curry, massaman curry, Tom yum and sticky mango rice. Bring a hungry belly!

Amazing cooking class - Edit
We did the vegan cooking class and May was incredible!! It was some of the best food we have had yet in Thailand. We ate at the restaurant the next day and it was amazing too. The only thing I would say is the shakes don’t use any kind of milk so they are less creamy than some other places! But I would 100% recommend the food and the cooking class.

Vegan sushi is nice - Edit
Good food, especially the vegan sushi is something different. Just the aspect, that they charge 20 baht for plain rice is a bit much.
