Always consistent - Edit
This is the location near my work. I order vegan pizza online and it’s ready when I drop on in. Great toppings made in house like vegan sausage, pepperoni and great vegan cheese and veg options for customization that doesn’t break the bank like at other places.

A Win for West San Antonio!!! - Edit
San Antonio has a few vegan establishments. Unfortunately, many are situated downtown which is approximately 20 miles from the northwest side. Although I do not mind the drive, I welcome the growth of new vegan restaurants. Mattenga’s is one of those. Located just off 151 adjacent to Sea World this place was a site for sore eyes. Vegan pizza with vegan cheese and faux meat toppings. Delicious!!! Fast!!! Hot!!! Excellent work!!! #Veganuary

Still on the search for a good vegan pizza - Edit
This pizza wasn’t bad but it wasn’t really good. I was just kinda there.
Read moreI ordered for here super excited to try their vegan pizza with toppings. I got vegan cheese, pepperoni and sausage.
They made the pizza super quick which was nice. The inside was very clean and staff was friendly.
Pizza wise- the crust was good and the marinara had a nice sweet flavor. The pizza however was so thin in the bottom which you pick up a slice there is absolutely no structure. They also use so much vegan cheese which just makes it gummy and gluey. This is the big mark on vegan pizzas that so many “regular” pizza places always miss. They put so much cheese thinking it will hold up like regular cheese but it becomes bread with Elmer’s glue on it instead. It was so gross I had to scrape it off and basically just eat the marinara and bread.
The toppings were good, however for a $26 16-inch pizza I expected many more toppings. I didn’t even get a faux meat with every bite. They could have been way more generous for the amount I paid.
I ate some of the pizza cold so that the cheese could harden some and it wasn’t a sloppy glue mess and it did make it better texture wise but flavor wise it still wasn’t anything special.
Overall, I’m super happy this place has vegan options, but I think until they put some more tlc into their vegan pies and learn how to properly prepare them, then I’m going to say this place is a big miss for me.
