Our go to restaurant in Taunton, also does takeouts - Edit
Mattancherry has really interesting and atmospheric decor, with old painted doors, shutters and a bicycle. There is a separate vegan menu, with lots of choice. Our favourites are the mango curry, okra curry and aloo gobi saag but we have tried and enjoyed almost all the vegan choices. There are also vegan naan breads, which are delicious.

Best Curry - Edit
Including the time in my life when I ate animals - this is the best curry I have ever had. A completely separate vegan menu, I was spoiled for choice. The food was perfect, the service great and was reasonably priced too in a very lovely restaurant. You can only 4 star review restaurants that also serve meat on this app but I wish I could 5 star it.

Fantastic vegan menu - Edit
A whole vegan menu of starters, mains, sides, rice and naan, even desserts! And they automatically brought us vegan pickles and chutneys with our poppadoms as they knew we were vegan. Really friendly and attentive service. I'd come back all the time if I lived nearby, fantastic food

A wonderful and varied vegan menu! - Edit
I ate at Mattancherry last night for the launch of their new vegan menu and wow it was delicious! I sampled many of the new dishes and each one was yummy. The team were as lovely and welcoming as ever, they really are great hosts. Sadly I took no photos, got carried away with enjoying the food and the company. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for vegan dining in an authentic restaurant.

Brand New Vegan Menu on offer with a really good number of starters, mains and desserts. There are also vegan beer and wine options on the new menu. There are lots of classic Mattancherry Taunton dishes that are now available as plant based.
