Double check to ensure a vegan meal! - Edit
I ordered the wild mushroom risotto which is listed as vegan on their menu. However, when I received my meal, there was cheese sprinkled around the plate as a garnish. Thankfully, there wasn’t any in the risotto itself, but it definitely made me nervous that my food wasn’t vegan. Normally, I don’t specify vegan if a meal is marked as such, but I would do so here just to be safe.

Good wine - Edit
Sadly only actually vegan option on the menu was no longer available, but they modify pesto noodles to be vegan. They are tasty and filling and I had a lovely Croatian wine to complement the dish. Second time I had them ratio of zucchini was also better in balance with the amount of noodles so that was a nice improvement.

Less options now - Edit
They changed their menu and there are less options now. The raw vegan cake is absolutely excellent and deserves 5 stars! I got an adapted main - rice noodles with pesto. It was ok - not great. The noodles were too wet and the flavour of the dish in general was average not spectacular. There were no proper starters just olives and bread basket etc. Also just one adapted main now.

Not as many options now. Salty food! - Edit
I was excited to come here based on the reviews but they're all very old. This place is lacking in vegan options and has some vegetarian options. Pescatarians will be more at home but the food just isn't very good. Very disappointed. Don't recommend.

Nice elaborated food and warm atmosphere - Edit
Very nice atmosphere and nice staff (maybe too much lol)
Read moreAs an appetizer, I had the Vegegiana (Grilled eggplant in Dalmatian sauce made of grilled tomatoes and red peppers with lemon) and I really looved it.
For the main, I had the "Quinolishes" (3 types of quinoa in homemade tomato sauce, raw zucchini zoodles and almonds), it was well executed and tasty but a bit light and a bit bland. I think it was the only vegan main dish.
As dessert, the (only) vegan one was raw cake (made of walnuts, carrot and chia seeds with cashew and coconut cream), was very good.
Overall a very pleasant meal and a nice change from fried potatoes and croatian fast food ! I recommand
Pros: Tasty and elaborated

Good option if you are the only vegan in your group - Edit
This is a nice restaurant and there is a starter, main and desert that are all vegan. My non vegan partner enjoyed his meal. If there had been more vegan choices we would have come back as we stayed in a hotel opposite the restaurant.

Veg options clearly marked - Edit
A cute restaurant with the feel of an underground wine cellar. Serves traditional dalmatian food and has clearly marked vegetarian and vegan menu options. Very good service but food was average. For the main meal I had the Ma:Noodles (rice noodles with pesto and burratina cheese) which were flavorsome but soggy. For an appetiser, I had the grilled eggplant (aubergine) with a red sauce.

Not worth it - Edit
Was really excited to visit after reading positive reviews on here, but regret doing so. There was 1 vegan main and it was overcooked stodgy noodles (I've had better readymeals) My pescatarian boyfriend had risotto that had prawns that were tough and chewy and he said tasted like they were frozen. The waiter was quite rude and snobby, but the waitress working was friendly. The most expensive meal we had in Croatia and also the worst.

Really nice place. You should reserve here and it is quite dressed up place. They made a vegan dish for me which was good and it was so filling.

Wonderful food and staff - Edit
Matoni was just great! We had a variation of hummus and a vegan tartar as starters, our main dish was tofu with barley and Dalmatian spices. All vegan, for vegetarians there's even more choice. For dessert, we had fruit sorbet. It was really perfect, amazing creative and well-seasoned food at affordable prices! Really nice staff! Totally recommend it! :)

Delicious and affordable - Edit
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had a fantastic meal. We had the red pepper hummus, a super tasty barley risotto with marinated tofu on top as well as a banana and cherry sorbet for dessert. All this and a bottle of wine only set us back 290kn - very reasonable for such a nice meal! They have rotating specials which occasionally contain vegan options, unfortunately none were available when we dined.

Perfection!!! - Edit
I just had the most wonderful, and fancy, dinner here. I had hummus with bread as an appetizer and then I had the only main (except salad) that was vegan which was a tofu and barley dish with kale. I don't really enjoy tofu, nor barley or kale lol but I loved this meal!!! It was so delicious and it was one of the best hummus I've ever tried.

Exquisite food in beautiful surroundings - Edit
This place just oozes ambience, in an old cellar with great music. The food was out of this world with plenty of vegan choices (including dessert) and was probably some of the best and most well presented vegan food I've ever had. Better value for money than some of the other 'vegan option' restaurants in Diocletians Palace...a must if you are visiting Split.

The best non veg place I've ever had a vegan meal! - Edit
This place is pretty special! Really close to the beach, in a kind of converted old cellar! Old stone walls, nice ambiance, and most importantly, GREAT food! My partner and I had a feast here and paid less than £30 in total! We had a savoury muffin (way better than it sounds!), a courgette pasta dish, stuffed peppers, raw dessert and 2 really good liquors each (Highly recommend the carob/cherry one!!!!). Vegan food in an omnivorous restaurant which was as good as any veg place I've eaten in 9 years! If you're in Split, go here!!!! Would rate it 5 stars, but the site does not allow for places which serve meat (kind of fair enough).

Would recommend booking - Edit
Unfortunately we didn't get to eat here in the end. It was a Saturday night and we turned up around 8pm looking for a table. It was beautiful inside and the food looked and smelled wonderful. Yet as you would expect it was fully booked, worth calling up and making a reservation as so not to miss out like us!

Look no further - Edit
If you were staying for a short time in Split and had to pick only one of the vegetarian restaurants, look no further. This is the place to visit even though it is only veg-friendly. I would rather say it is extra veg-friendly and the food is simply delicious, let alone excellent service and cosy interior. I am a local and this is the one I would definitely recommend.

Yes - Edit
This place is the ****ing business. Serves meat but vegan option for three courses and compared to every other vegan option in Split it blows them out of the water, fantastic restaurant. The chefs are inventive and clearly care about doing interesting things with flavours and ingredients-whatever the option is, I can pretty much guarantee it will be great.

Very cozy restaurant with delicious food and reasonable prices. Vegan options are clearly marked on the menu and are not as uninspired as in many other restaurants that are not fully vegan. They even have home made vegan ice cream. Very tasty, fresh food and friendly staff.

Delicious vegan options - Edit
I visited this restaurant three times in less than two months because I loved their vegan food so much! We got homemade hummus with seeds and olive oil while waiting for our dishes to be made, even though they arrived very soon. We enjoyed Vegelicious burger patties made with chickpeas, lentils and barley with flax seeds and spicy peanut red pepper dip. They are really filling, crunchy and delicious, and come with side of salad. I also tried their weekly changing special: zucchini carpaccio with olive oil, lemon juice with cooked; beautifully seasoned brown lentil, grilled mushrooms, mango sauce and pea pesto-mash. For dessert we ate pears cooked in black tea served in dark chocolate sauce with vegan berry icecream. Interior is beautiful, reminds me of medieval castles and wine cellars, they also have wide range of beers, and beautiful wine shop. Staff is very friendly and helpful, chef always visits us and greets his guest to check if everything's fine. I can't wait to return and try some new vegan dish they come up with.
