Very friendly staff and a cute place very near the Vatican attractions. We got a cherry croissant (delicious) and a roasted zucchini and aubergine panini (the bread was really good). These were the only two vegan options. They also offer vegan milk alternatives for coffees.

Happy to report that Matata now has more vegan options. There was red fruit jam filled croissant, a slice of cake that was similar to a jam tart, a pastry that seemed to be like a pain au chocolat and an aubergine and courgette sandwich. Whilst the croissant and cake slice were slightly over cooked they were enjoyable. They also have soya milk and I think oat milk.

One Vegan Cookie - Edit
There is only one vegan cookie, but very delisious. The waiter was very friendly. It’s not a place for you, if you really want to eat some cake. But it‘s perfect for just one Coffee und a little snack. I had a coffee with soy milk and two cookies.
