Almost perfect! - Edit
Always feel welcomed at Mas, and their vegan options are so good! I love that many items are vegan/can be made vegan as it helps when sharing. Only complaint would be that my quesadilla didn’t taste of anything specific, it was just a bit bland both visually and in flavour. But otherwise, the food is great here and you’re not compromising flavour simply by eating vegan!

Loco Rita’s sister - Edit
Owned by the same people as loco Rita’s (the fully vegan Mexican in town). Funnily enough though Mas has a separate vegan menu which is very good, some similarities and some differences between the two restaurants. I would rate Mas higher for delicate flavours and a really great pineapple pudding - a little more elegant that the street food vibe in loco Rita but not by much. I would always loco Rita’s there first, Support the vegan business! Mas has been handy for big parties of people who can’t agree on a fully vegan setting.

Very impressed - Edit
We were unsure about the menu and the waiter took time to explain each option to us, there were loads of vegan options.
Read moreThe food was delicious, I like spicy food and this was perfect, hot and spicy but we were still able to enjoy the tastes of the food.
A really good meal in a great wee restaurant.
Pros: The staff were really helpful

We have been back a few times since I wrote that review in 2019. Today, it was as good as ever. It still has a separate vegan menu and helpful knowledgeable staff. Well cooked delicious food. A really great place.

Best Mexican place in Dundee - Edit
I'm surprised this place doesn't have as good reviews as Wee Mexico when it's much better as it uses fresher ingredients and has more interesting flavours. Make sure you ask for the vegan menu. The tostadas were a bit dull but I love the tacos with grilled pineapple.

Cons: If busy you may only get a table for a set time, Doesn't do takeaway

Good but not amazing - Edit
I went here the other night and my partner and I ordered three of the tapas options between us. I'm still torn, I enjoyed it but I don't think I would rush back.
Read moreThe flavours were really nice, not much spice (which is sad for people like me who love spicy food) but well seasoned all the same. It is tapas so it's nice to order different things and share.
The tacos and the tostadas were the best, really nice flavours. I did think there was something lacking in the sweet potato quesadillas which were just seasoned sweet potato in a tortilla.
The churros weren't my cup of tea, a bit too dense and 'deep fried' tasting and I'm not a fan of lemon sorbet, gimmie chocolate with chocolate. I'm usually a total sweet tooth so I was a bit disappointed with those. They are vegan though so that's a pro. Some people might like them though so I wouldn't rule them out.
Overall, I'd say it's worth trying out, I wasn't overly enamoured with it but it's quite nice. It's great they have a vegan menu and I do think it's good that that menu doesn't rely on alternatives and instead is well-flavoured veg and beans (I wouldn't mind a wee bit of vegan cheese or sour cream as an option though).
On a final note - ask for no ice with your drinks otherwise you'll be getting a glass full of ice with a sprinkle of juice.
Pros: Has vegan menu , Well-seasoned food
Cons: little bit pricey
