Maria offers a small menu with comfort foods like poutine and burgers.

Therefore there were quite a few menu -items not available anymore.
We had the fries topped with v-chicken and sriracha mayo and a version with bbq onions and crispy tvp-steaks.
It was yummy, but I’d have loved if the fries were thinner and crispier, not a fan of rather bigger fries with softer, mealy inside texture (If you know what I mean 😅).

Nice place to chill and eat - Edit
I ate here with a non-veg friend, and we both loved our food here. It was no problem to hang out for a couple of hours catching up over the tasty food and drink. The neighborhood is a nice place to chill, so eating at their outdoor seating on a nice day is a bonus.

Fuimos después de un día cansadísimo y fue la mejor decisión que pudimos tomar. Todas las hamburguesas tienen algo especial, normalmente me da pereza ir a sitios de comida rápida vegana porque siempre tienen de lo mismo y sabe a comida basura estándar, pero la verdad es que nos sorprendió gratamente. La salsa de queso de anacardos que tienen es increíble y el sitio tiene un rollo muy guay. Recomendadísimo pasarse si vais a ver la East Side Gallery antes de comer.

We stopped in on a whim, and had the chicken parm cheesy fries, classic burger, and cauliflower wings, and a root beer float.
Read moreThe best items were the burger and float. Burger came with a delicious onion ring, and the float was wonderfully creamy.
The chicken parm fries were recommended by the waiter, and it was so close to perfect. The chicken cutlet was great, as well as their homemade mozzarella. Where they let us down was the sauce which didn’t quite work, but was still good. The fries were also good thicker cut fries but I’ve had better. The cauliflower wings were crispy and well cooked but again the sauce was good but not great.

Maria has plenty of seating so it's pretty convenient to pop in and grab a table. The staff were friendly and the food came pretty quick. I had the chicken parm with fries, it was just okay. My group tried the cauliflower wings, ribs, and cheeseburger, everything was fine. I wouldn't go out of my way to go again but if you're in the neighborhood and need a quick bite to eat it's handy.

When I arrived I was the first customer and could choose my seat. I accidentally chose a table with a 'reserved' sign, to which the waiter said rather grumpy "reserved". 30 minutes later (and more tables occupied) a young lady came, chose the same table: "No problem" and the sign was moved. Not a good start.
Read moreI choose the loaded fries chicken parma. In general: German fries are not my taste. The vegan chicken was from Tindle, the vegan mozzarella was home made and had quite a good texture.
I had a (expensive) 'basilikum spritz' which was very refreshing and tasteful.
But the food was overall not very tasty (flat in taste).

Seit nun ca. einem halben Jahr gehen wir so ziemlich regelmäßig ins Maria. Wir waren schon am ersten Tag total verblüfft und positiv überrascht und wurden die folgenden Monate nie enttäuscht. Obwohl das Menü recht klein und übersichtlich ist, müssen wir jedes mal überlegen was wir essen möchten, da alles dort so lecker schmeckt. Wir sind jedesmal erstaunt das alles hausgenacht ist und dann auch noch so gut schmeckt. Beim letzten Besuch waren wir sehr positiv überrascht, da einige neue Gerichte auf dem Menü standen. Die Atmosphäre wie auch die Mitarbeiter finden wir einfach super.

This place would be great with an in house vinegar based hot sauce or chimichuri sauce.
But yeah US comfort food for me is meant to be a rich, indulgent experience where as this was a light, unexciting one.

I didn’t even know that you could have vegan bbq ribs and it was one of the best vegan meat i ever ate. The burgers were also very good, but i gotta say that the cauliflower hotwings were not like wings at all but tasty in their own way.

Read moreI had the hamburger helper (mac’n cheese with burger patty crumbled into it) which had a bit of spice to it. My non vegan friend said, that it did lack some cheesiness to it. I didn’t mind - still did a happy dance while eating.
The Location is quite big on the inside and there’s about 5 tables outdoors. You can pay with EC and credit card as well as cash.
I loved it.
