Great food in a beautiful setting - Edit
This was an unexpected find on a quick stop driving between Lisbon & Salamanca. It’s a vegetarian restaurant but everything on the menu (including the dessert!) was vegan. Starters (green bean soup, mushroom pate, various types of bruschetta) and puds (tapioca pudding with chocolate or with red fruits; chocolate mousse with Oreos). Based on food from their local farm, the menu changes daily and is a set main dish made up of 4 small dishes. Everything was fresh & tasty. Simple food but thoughtfully presented. The building is 18th century I think - old stables with lots of stone & wood but with a 1940s vibe! Lovely vintage furniture and cosy lighting. I really recommend this place!

A restaurant with good atmosphere, the food was mostly great. The combination of things in the main plate was a bit unclear to me, but except the thing with the mushrooms it was good. The soup was the best. Unfortunately no vegan dessert.

After a great visit last year we returned this year. During our holiday we have eaten here three times because the food was so good, and the staff so friendly. Also, it has a really nice outdoor terrace where you'll enjoy your food even more. To be clear, and responding to earlier comments, they offer one dish of the day which changes each day. They use as many locally sourced ingredients as they can. That is their concept. It might be true that they supposedly serve meat upon request but nothing indicated this during our four (!) visits. I consider this a fully vegan restaurant, and I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to give this place the 5 star ranking, which it definitely deserves.

The ambience is fantastic and the service always friendly and professional. Unfortunately we received warmed up food from lunch in the evening once while other guests that came later had fresh food. On request the waiter said, they don't want to waste food and I appreciate this attitude. But it would have been nice to inform us in advance or sell the leftovers cheaper.

Nevertheless it's still a good restaurant

Best to go and experience it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
We have visited the restaurant at lunchtimes.
In the evening they also have an outside terrace and a bar that is very quirky, utilizing recycled articles for decor.
All in all, it is a must even if you are not a vegetarian/vegan.
