Worth it!

This place was so hard to me to find lol cuz i forgot the name of it, but im sure anyone with a working cellphone and ability to read Korean will find it much more easily πŸ™ƒ
The staff was.great and poured HEALTHY glasses of wine each time ! (Yeah i got two glasses, okay??)
Loved the dim, moody lighting. Lots of random decorations around the restaurant and they played i think a horror movie in the background haha.
Such great food, you can tell they really care about quality.

Pros: Not stingy with wine

Cons: Far from seoul

Good food and atmosphere

Been there a few times and the food never disappointed. The lasagna and shiitake rice are my favorites. The place has a great vibe and owners/staff seem super nice and friendly. They now have vegan wine and it’s pretty good. I only wish they had a couple of local Korean craft beers instead of beers from those a**holes at Brewdog. All in all, one of my favorite vegan places in Korea.

Food is very salty, but otherwise all is good

After months of wanting to visit this one restaurant in Gunpo, I finally found the front door to Mangata. Inside was a treat from the start: the stylish decor is complimented nicely by good jazz played through appropriately high quality speakers, mood lighting, and attentive, engaging staff.
Being a carbo loader at dinner time I went for the eggplant shitake "over black rice," and quite enjoyed it despite it being slightly over salted; more serious was that it was quite a tiny portion size.
So, I ordered the "clam chowder" as well. It was even more salty than the previous dish, and yet the natural flavours of the ingredients did stand out, making it still quite delicious.
Mangata is clearly a bar first and foremost, well before it's a restaurant (hence the extra specially salty food, perhaps?), and so I ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail and enjoyed chatting with the staff about the place, including the vegan book and magazine collection. (Checking out the latest issue of "Vegan" magazine I even discovered a feature on that great vegan shampoo company now available in SK, "Uberwood.")
With Drunken Vegan further north near Hongdae, it's a great sign that the city now has at least two late night vegan bars with wonderful food options.
Mangata has only been open for about six months though, and the young staff - including chefs - are clearly learning by experience, and will develop more confidence in their great recipes over time; perhaps also with a few more compliments from us all they'll soon be self-assured enough to trust customers with the own salt shakers.
In the meantime Mangata is still a fantastic place to hang out alone, with a party group, or a favourite significant human or other, for a night of fine style and vegan cuisine.

Hidden Gem

I recently was walking in downtown Sanbon when I saw the sign outside. (Exit 3) The food here is great although there are just a handful of options. The drink list is a little massive. I love the jazzy atmosphere and there is even a section where you can bring your pet.

Hidden Gem

This place is a serious hidden gem! It’s in Sanbon which is a bit out of the city, but it’s worth going out of your way for!

I had the fried cauliflower and β€œclam” chowder. Both dishes were insanely good. Definitely plan to visit again.
