Cute place with vegan options

This is a very nice place with a good vibe by the river. They have some vegan options, but you should ask the owner (if you can find him😅) who can speak English. From the menu it’s not very clear, but they have some good vegan options. I do had to find the staff a lot of the times, because they were not around. It takes a long time some times because of that. Nevertheless, the smoothiebowl was very good.😊

Cozy place with friendly people and great view!

The place is super close to pier.

I had Lao pancake and smoothy - it was delicious😊 The pancake was huge and smoothy was thick that I needed spoon to eat it😍

Highly recommended!

Best Restaurant in Don Det

Nothing is explicitly marked vegan on the menu, but you can ask for everything and they will consider whether it can be made vegan. The staff was always friendly and helpful.
The smoothies bowl is not on the menu and it must be asked. There are two variants (chocolate and the second I have unfortunately forgotten). The smoothiebowl cost 75,000 kip. The dishes were different good, but we are in any case always happy to come back.

Decent food

Pancake was okay but very nice that they could make a vegan one. The yellow curry was great. Overal decent food for an affordable price. The mother working there understands veganism which is great.

Normal weg.

Insane portion

I ordered the Laos Pancake, which was a huge flatbread filled with vegetables. The portion was huge, I couldn't even finish it.
The menu is a bit confusing since they don't mark options as vegan or vegetarian. It takes some time to figure out what could be vegan.

Go for the hummus plate

Really the hummus plate is delicious, with little salade, bruschetta, fresh veggies and naan to dip in!
Everything is fresh and prepared a la minute.

Great breakfast

We ate here a couple of times during our trip - breakfast is great! The smoothie bowls, porridge & drinks are all really yummy and satisfying. However, we ordered the massaman and koh soi curry but they literally had no flavour - very disappointing.

Delicious Massaman curry

They know what vegan is and the Massaman curry is sooo good! It’s a nice vibe with the river view, hammocks and chill music!

Lovely Riverfront guesthouse & restaurant

Jan 2023 -
The staff speak some English and they know what vegetarian and vegan mean. Just tell them your restrictions and they'll help you with the menu.

I had a Khao Soi (they gave me steamed rice instead of crispy egg noodles), and a banana lime coconut milk smoothie. Everything was yummy.

The restaurant's verandah has great views of the river and islands and there are some hammocks.

I'm also staying here, & my room opens up to the verandah. There are rooms for 80,000 Kip and 100,000 Kip (walk-in prices) - fan and cold water only. It's very hot today, so not having hot water won't be a problem.

Best curry I've had

Had the khao soi with crispy noodles and it is one of the best things I've eaten in Asia! So filling and delicious. Owner has a great understanding of vegan and also peanut allergies.
Also came for breakfast and had banana sticky rice and coconut porridge. Their smoothies as standard are made from coconut milk and not sweet milk.

Amazing place to eat and live

During Covid-19 we lived there for two month straigth and we consider coming back!

The slovakian couple was very lovely and made us the
BEST SMOOTHIEBOWLS
and Smoothies everyday.
They were also very helpful in every other aspect and living there was just the best. (we paid 50000 kip for the room)
The rest of the Lao Family was also very sweet. (especialy Put :D)

Favorite Smoothies:
- Pineapple Express
- Goji passion
- Peas& Love

(If you want a cheaper one:)
- Mango- Banana Shake
- Banana-Peanutbutter Shake
Best for the price!

Other dishes we can recommend
in the VEGAN version:

- Khao Soi
- Pumkin Soup
- Yellow Curry
- Pad Thai
- Fried Rice with Peanut-Sauce
- Hummus Crustinis
- Humus Sandwich
- Fruit Salat
- Pumkin Burger (with egg in other places!)
- Lao pancake

The food varyed in quality sometimes but the Smoothies were always perfect.
For the most part the portions were very large.
The prices are good/fair.

They met every Extra-wish we had. (vegan/ oil free/ every Smoothie as a Smoothiebowl)

The Terrace with hammocks and riverview is sooo beautiful and chill.

Thanks a lot! We will miss this place.

Pros: Many vegan options, amazing Smoothies

Cons: Foodquality varies sometimes

Good quality, good price, nice view

We sat down at one of the tables with river view and had a massaman curry and fried rice. The portion was really large and actually we could not finish. The price and the quality is really decent. The owner seems very nice and also asked if we could eat egg or not.

Pros: Price , Quality, Large portion

Perfect for Vegans in Don Det

Very reasonably priced, lots of vegan options and super friendly owners! Both speak English and understand veganism so will be more than happy to help you with the menu. Smoothie bowls are packed full of fruits and seeds. Coconut milk dairy alternative for drinks. Slightly slow (laid back feel) service.

Pros: Reasonably priced , Lots of vegan options

Tons of vegan food

Ask for the vegan food - upon request almost everything can be made vegan. We had great thai food, and the smoothie bowls look nice. Probably the best vegan option on Don Det.

Ok

I was there at 4 pm, so on an unusual time. The staff was not friendly and I had to help myself... Means, go in front to ask for the menü, than for ordering, paying. I choosed the pumpkin burger which was ok, but the frensh fries were soft and oily. Nothing is marked as vegan, so I would never come to the idea the pancake can be served vegan. I am also not sure the majonaise on my plate was vegan.

Repeat customer

Where to start... The owner is extremely nice and helpful. Offering advice on places to go and things to do as well as being very knowledgeable about the ingredients in his food. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. The food is great, especially the smoothy bowl and the chocolate peanut smoothy

Pros: Lots of options, Great atmosphere

Cons: Slightly on the expensive side

Very nice!

The food is really good, we’ve had breakfast here everyday! The wiener is very nice and helps you to come to a good choice. The food comes very quick and tastes great! Apart from the good service and the food, the vibe here is really nice. They have 2 places to sit, one in the front of the building next to the road and one at the waterside you have to go trough the building to get there but it was our favourite place to sit, eat and enjoy the view.

Pros: Great food, Good service, Nice owner

Cons: Loud music in the front part
