Cute place with vegan options - Edit
This is a very nice place with a good vibe by the river. They have some vegan options, but you should ask the owner (if you can find him😅) who can speak English. From the menu it’s not very clear, but they have some good vegan options. I do had to find the staff a lot of the times, because they were not around. It takes a long time some times because of that. Nevertheless, the smoothiebowl was very good.😊

Best Restaurant in Don Det - Edit
Nothing is explicitly marked vegan on the menu, but you can ask for everything and they will consider whether it can be made vegan. The staff was always friendly and helpful.
Read moreThe smoothies bowl is not on the menu and it must be asked. There are two variants (chocolate and the second I have unfortunately forgotten). The smoothiebowl cost 75,000 kip. The dishes were different good, but we are in any case always happy to come back.

Decent food - Edit
Pancake was okay but very nice that they could make a vegan one. The yellow curry was great. Overal decent food for an affordable price. The mother working there understands veganism which is great.

Normal weg. - Edit
Hat einige vegane Angebote, aber leider ist immer alles Mögliche nicht vorhanden und / oder sehr ungesund. Wir kamen 2x für smoothiebowls vorbei, nur ein Mal konnte eine von zwei zubereitet werden.

Insane portion - Edit
I ordered the Laos Pancake, which was a huge flatbread filled with vegetables. The portion was huge, I couldn't even finish it.
Read moreThe menu is a bit confusing since they don't mark options as vegan or vegetarian. It takes some time to figure out what could be vegan.

Great breakfast - Edit
We ate here a couple of times during our trip - breakfast is great! The smoothie bowls, porridge & drinks are all really yummy and satisfying. However, we ordered the massaman and koh soi curry but they literally had no flavour - very disappointing.

Lovely Riverfront guesthouse & restaurant - Edit
Jan 2023 -
Read moreThe staff speak some English and they know what vegetarian and vegan mean. Just tell them your restrictions and they'll help you with the menu.
I had a Khao Soi (they gave me steamed rice instead of crispy egg noodles), and a banana lime coconut milk smoothie. Everything was yummy.
The restaurant's verandah has great views of the river and islands and there are some hammocks.
I'm also staying here, & my room opens up to the verandah. There are rooms for 80,000 Kip and 100,000 Kip (walk-in prices) - fan and cold water only. It's very hot today, so not having hot water won't be a problem.

Good quality, good price, nice view - Edit
We sat down at one of the tables with river view and had a massaman curry and fried rice. The portion was really large and actually we could not finish. The price and the quality is really decent. The owner seems very nice and also asked if we could eat egg or not.

Perfect for Vegans in Don Det - Edit
Very reasonably priced, lots of vegan options and super friendly owners! Both speak English and understand veganism so will be more than happy to help you with the menu. Smoothie bowls are packed full of fruits and seeds. Coconut milk dairy alternative for drinks. Slightly slow (laid back feel) service.

Tons of vegan food - Edit
Ask for the vegan food - upon request almost everything can be made vegan. We had great thai food, and the smoothie bowls look nice. Probably the best vegan option on Don Det.

Ok - Edit
I was there at 4 pm, so on an unusual time. The staff was not friendly and I had to help myself... Means, go in front to ask for the menü, than for ordering, paying. I choosed the pumpkin burger which was ok, but the frensh fries were soft and oily. Nothing is marked as vegan, so I would never come to the idea the pancake can be served vegan. I am also not sure the majonaise on my plate was vegan.

Very nice! - Edit
The food is really good, we’ve had breakfast here everyday! The wiener is very nice and helps you to come to a good choice. The food comes very quick and tastes great! Apart from the good service and the food, the vibe here is really nice. They have 2 places to sit, one in the front of the building next to the road and one at the waterside you have to go trough the building to get there but it was our favourite place to sit, eat and enjoy the view.
