Delicious meal in pleasant dining room - Edit
We found delicious food and a comfortable haven in this place after 3 intensive hours of sightseeing at London Tower. We walked along the Thames to get to the restaurant from the Tower, which was fun. We had glorious weather that day and the plant-lined windows were open in the dining room upstairs giving it a fresh, verdant feel. We only glanced at downstairs dining area, which has a bar. But it looked pleasant enough and is where one would have to eat if not able to climb stairs. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the seats were comfortable for our weary tourist legs. You can pay at your leisure using a Q code that is on a little wooden block on the table. It allows you to split the bill and pay by credit card super easily and conveniently. We were very glad to make Mallow a part of our London visit!

Somehow even better than Mildred’s original - Edit
Always loved Mildred’s but this new restaurant under the same team is another level. Love the ethos that almost all ingredients are sourced at the local Borough Market and so many other sustainable approaches . The food is stunning. Little bit fancier than other outlets in terms of you may have to ask or google what particular item on the menu is but in summary berthing tasted great. Dumplings were so full of flavour and had good kick in the sauce. The pad dish was so full of fresh flavour and great portion size for an upper scale restaurant (which I often find the higher the price the less food ) and crème brûlée was a perfect light dessert when you just want something sweet but already full , so creamy and the Carmel crisp topping . Perfection!

So many places in London that go for the vegan fast food
Read moreNot here !! This is for those times when you want something a bit special, taste was amazing.
It is on the More expensive side but you are getting value on the food as it’s quality produce and made to treat your tastebuds , on the downside drinks are expensive (but it is in London so what did expect)
Will be going again soon
Pros: All vegan , Great taste, Heather options
Cons: Expensive drinks

Amazing desserts & all food - Edit
I dined solo on a Sunday evening, sticking to firsts and small plates so I could try a variety of things while sipping on a pink citrus spritz mocktail, which I found delightful -- a reaction that surprised me given my relationship with grapefruit. The foods I tried, starting with my favorite and then in order, were the amazing bhel puri, the leek cheddar croquettes, the temperu fungi and the son dumplings.
Read moreThe bhel puri was the star and went well with the non-alcoholic drink. It's an Indian style dish made of soft potatoes, curried dried coconut shavings, cashews, crisped rice, green onions and pomegranate seeds. Can I say it tasted like summer evening without sounding ridiculous?
The croquettes were also wonderful in how gooey they were on the inside while remaining crispy on the out.
For dessert I had the creme brulee which came with anise apricots and broken up pistachio biscuits; and two pistachio ghorayebah cookies. All was delicious but the creme brulee threw me out of my seat, along with the biscuits that came with it. Please don't eat here without trying the creme brulee. I sat at the bar and got a front row seat to the dessert prep, and this was by far the most popular. You'll see why.

The Desserts Alone Are Worth It! - Edit
Mallow is beautiful, the decor is beautiful, the view is beautiful, the people are beautiful and the food is beautiful. It’s more fine dining than you usually find on the vegan restaurant scene and that’s ok, it adds variety and I am here for it. The experience there was lovely although time between courses was slow, I feel like it was in part deliberate to help us savour each dish. The buttermilk chik’en burger was beautiful but I didn’t quite understand the addition of caponata? It distracted from the flavour of the chik’en patty itself. The labneh did not come with any bread although it was delicious it was hard to see why it was served on a nest of vermicelli seeing as it’s a middle eastern dip. The pibil tacos were delicious and the desserts were out of this world. In a world of sorbet, say yes to Mallow. We had the banana pudding and the crème brûlée. They were divine! Will go again next time I am in town. A wonderful addition to the vegan scene!

Amazing Discovery - Edit
Our first visit for a birthday celebration. Great food, fantastic flavours, bright and airy room on the first floor. We had the pibil tofu and the market thali followed by lime meringue pie and butter rum banana pudding. All really good. We booked online but maybe not necessary if you go early. Only minor letdown was the carafe of red wine, Nero D’Avola, ok but not memorable.

3 1/2 and how I wish it was more - Edit
I'd love to give Mallow 5 stars. Even 4. Because I had high(er) expectations. Fantastic space, lovely front of house, excellent presentation, brilliant credentials. With everything going for it, I wish the menu was a bit more coherent. A few too many threads made it impossible to stick to a continent across starters & mains. I could have lived with this if the mushroom tacos were crisper and sharper. If the cauliflower chaat had a hint of India. If the meringue in the kumquat tart was less doughy... A good vegan venue. I so wish it could have set a higher benchmark for vegan cuisine

Erg leuk, sfeervol tentje. Vriendelijk personeel en heel lekker verrassend eten. Zo kun je bijvoorbeeld kiezen uit een old English meal, maar ook uit de Indische keuken of een moderne toast met smeersels.

A wonderful find - Edit
We came across Mallow whilst wandering Borough Market and decided to give it a try, I am so pleased we did. We opted for small plates, I had one of the best Dahl's I've ever tasted, non-vegan hubby had maple baked beans with a grilled cheese sandwich. For desert I had the delicious kumquat lemon meringue pie. Food was delicious and the service was welcoming and friendly.
