mapo tofu savoureux

le restaurant est bien décoré et l’équipe nous a bien accueilli!

le mapo tofu est savoureux mais malheureusement, la sauce du mala n’a goûté que du piment.

Disappointing, but a cool vibe

Sichuan dry pot is my favorite dish, so I was very excited by this cool restaurant that was advertising themselves as the premium mala xiang guo place in Paris. You can see the cooks stir fry and the huge flames come out of their pans. They also had very nice cocktails - overall the vibes are great.
However....we chose a 3/5 for the spice level (I grew up eating spicy Chinese food so I can take it) and spice was literally all we could taste. It didn't even taste salty or like any other flavor (maybe the only other flavor was a charred taste from the high heat). The spice wasn't even like a Sichuan peppercorn spice that numbs your mouth, just regular spice. It got hard to eat at some point, and this was especially sad because the way they cooked the tofu was really nice.
Perhaps a lesson that the cool, trendy places on IG will not always have the most authentic food. If you do go here, even if you like spicy food, just a 1 or a 2 and hopefully you can enjoy it more.

Pros: Vegan-friendly Sichuan dry pot, Nice drinks

Cons: Be cautious of spice levels
