Best vegan ramen yet - Edit
To be fair, i haven't tried much vegan ramen, but this was delicious. Its changed since the other reviews as they now have a whole vegan menu with ramen, sushi, kimchi etc. Lovely staff and awesome atmosphere & decor

Slightly disappointed - Edit
There has been an update to their menu since this branch reopened I think. Options that could be veganised were no longer marked clearly. There is a vegan ramen but it didn't sound very appealing.
Read moreThe veganised miso ramen I've gone for was quite poor especially the broth which was just watery. It just felt a bit like they've taken a step backwards with their vegan offerings.
Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Limited options, Below average food for the price.

Okay vegan food - Edit
I had heard about maki and Ramen from friends who are not vegan, and the restaurant always seemed busy so I guessed it was good.

I had the miso ramen without egg, and honestly was quite plain.
The restaurant was too crowded, it was hard to ear the other people at my table just 50 cm from me.
I do understand that for non-vegans the food is really good but for me I was not very impressed.

Stopped in and had a ramen bowl which was great. Nice and spicy my friend had pumpkin and edamame rolls which he enjoyed as well

Satisfying bowls of ramen - Edit
The Maki & Ramen on South Bridge has a more informal feel than its other locations, and specialises in ramen and other comfort food. I had the miso ramen, and they swapped out the egg noodles for rice noodles to make it vegan. It was really delicious, and wonderfully comforting on a cold day!
