Delicious Grab n' Go Vegan Food! - Edit
Yes, Main Squeeze is no longer a full service restaurant and I know that is frustrating to some, but now they have a lot of great options for grab and go meals! I really appreciate a place where I can pick up vegan meals for me and my family on weeks when we are all too busy to cook. I love their grab n' go mac n' cheese and their vegan chicken salad, which are also big hits with the family. I also love their hot breakfast burritos, which are perfect when I'm on the run. They also have a lot of wonderful sustainable household products, so you can get a little bit of everything when you're there!

Not so much of a food place anymore - Edit
They used to have a large food menu with lots of options, but now you can either get a Buddha Bowl ($15 for brown rice, tofu, carrots, and broccoli), or a premade burrito or salad from the case. It's mostly a store now with some grocery items and other knick knacks from local artists. The place wasn't busy when we got there but the lady behind the counter couldn't be bothered to get off her phone to acknowledge us, let alone take our order. I was still contemplating adding a dessert from the case to our order when she just told us the total so she can go back to whatever she was doing (didn't look up at us once). The Buddha Bowl was... Okay. Truly just a half a cup of brown rice, maybe a quarter block of seasoned but uncooked tofu, and steamed broccoli and carrots with a drizzle of cabbage. Clearly a $5 meal but for $15... It's too bad. This town can really use a healthy lunch place with a robust menu. :/

Cute shop with great food - Edit
Good to know this awesome place exists just two hours outside of St. Louis. I don’t come to Columbia often, but it’s nice to have good vegan options there. They have ready-to-go cold/hot meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as dessert items. I got a vegan breakfast burrito and then Mac and cheese for later. Both were amazing. They also have a decent collect of vegan groceries too like chips, just egg, nut milks, etc. I didn’t try the juices or smoothies, but will when I come back!

An Oasis - Edit
Not too far off the highway for those passing through. They have readymade sandwiches and treats to go plus some basic grocery items like chips, crackers, and bars. They also have a cooler full of things like soups and spreads.
Read moreHad the Chick’n Philly made with soy curls and cashew cheese. Also had the “Elizabeth Warren Ball” made from rice crips and peanut butter rolled in sesame seeds. Both were very good.

Vegan Haven - Edit
One of my best friends and I stopped at this place to have some lunch on our way to Kansas City. I appreciate that the restaurant doesn’t serve meat. I’m very thankful to have a meat free environment. I’m also very thankful that the staff are very helpful. They can veganize any dish you have in mind. The sky is the limit. I definitely enjoyed having lunch and not feeling guilty about what I ate. They’re a very healthy restaurant, but their healthy food is delicious too.

Vegan Options for Road Trip - Edit
We stopped here on a road trip. It was a nice surprise to find a place with Vegan options.
Read moreIts a bit of a conundrum that they are vegetarian 'for the animals', I guess not for female mammals who are raped and have their babies robbed from them or the female chickens who are caged up and filled with hormones.
They also state they are vegan for the planet, civil rights and health. Dairy products and eggs are some of the most wasteful to produce. People who live by dairy farms or chicken farms do not have it any better than people who live by other factory farms. Dairy products are not healthy and are extremely inflammatory and leach bones of their calcium. Eggs are extremely unhealthy and are the highest source of cholesterol.
Its really frustrating that they can perpetuate and support such suffering and try to take a 'middle ground'. There are issues that you cannot take a middle ground on such as exploiting or killing an innocent life.
Overall we were not impressed with their food, but I'm sure it is the best in the area. It was definitely nice to order vegan meals on the road.
$9 Breakfast sandwich: dry and expensive. Other than that the flavor was decent and portion size ok.
$7 Peanut Butter Smoothie (can't remember exactly): Tasted worse than something I could make at home.
Restrooms: Non Gendered which is nice. They could have been cleaner for sure.
Parking: it's actually in a pretty busy area. It is not on a corner but pretty close. We were able to find a spot on a nearby street. Parking is a coin meter (can't remember if app was an option). We did not come during a busy time of day.
To Go Containers: Straws were compostable which was awesome. The only to go container for coffee was the same as the one for smoothies, not ideal. They also did not look to be compostable plant plastic.
Pros: Non gender restrooms, Compostable straws
Cons: Stop exploiting female mammals and birds, Don't have to go coffee cups , To go drink cups not compostable

To Die For - Edit
Adorable place, super friendly staff, and amazing food. We were dropping our son off at Mizzou on our way to LOZ from St. Louis. It was so good we are planning to routinely take the extra 30 minute detour every time we go to the lake! We had the Blue Zone, Ruby and TKO. All very good but especially enjoyed the sandwich & wrap.

Vegetarian cafe! - Edit
Had a hard time picking out what I wanted! Got the Fortune wrap which was rice and tofu and spinach and carrots with a ginger scallion dressing. Very good and big and messy. Boyfriend got the BLT which I'm not a huge fan of tempeh but they did a great job! Also got fruit suit smoothie and Pineapple Express smoothie both were great! Service took a little while but they were busy. Definitely recommend if in the area and can't wait to try for breakfast tomorrow!!

everything we had was delicious - Edit
It was my first time and even though the staff was super friendly I had to sort of figure out it was grab your own water and utensils. Not a problem. Would have been more obvious had I not been distracted by the three small children I was with. The food was delicious. Everything we had (all vegan) was great. Did the tacos - sub vegan cheese and sour cream, TLT, Peggy w quinoa, chips and salsa. Chips were a small serving but not unjust for the $2 price tag. I don't know what kind of love they poured into that Peggy but the dressing was truly amazing. Tacos were good too and the burger was a big hit. Really good job overall on textures and flavors.
Read moreThe only thing I thought was super odd was, when I asked which desserts were vegan, the response was "they're all vegan depending on how you feel about honey."
I just blinked a few times, because that's not a good answer. To make it worse, the employee didn't point out which desserts had honey in them.
I didn't state this at the time but I would recommend the staff be advised - any definition of veganism would talk about not exploiting animals, and honeybees are, without a doubt, animals.
Pros: TLT, smoothies, variety and vegan options
Cons: weird honey comment
livylou
If you ask they will look up the ingredients for each cookie!!! I got that same response which I thought was odd too! But most actual don't have honey! I love the pecan cookie!

great food, but not speedy - Edit
Delicious veg food with a TON of options. Parking is difficult and the line can sometimes go out the door. Because the food is made to order with care the service can feel slow. But it's absolutely worth the wait. Can also be considered pricey but again the ingredients seem worthy of the cost.
