Mahalo has several veg-friendly options on its menu. If the dishes we ordered are characteristic of their cooking style, it’s upscale casual with an emphasis on the sweet, the fat, and the salty: honey roasted walnuts in a green salad, maple syrup crusted tofu, crispy corn chips for the white bean hummus. I enjoyed the flatbread with veggie spreads I ordered for an early dinner but prefer vegetarian cuisine without the heavy handed additions. The garden outdoor dining space is shady, surrounded by tall trees and tropical vines that were presumably saved during the renovation of the hotel and restaurant.

I went to Mahalo everyday for breakfast - they tend to be more vegetarian than vegan - but they are happy to mix and match on the menu and come up with some great food - so I’m a chef so I’m not easy to please 🤣 indoor and garden seating - live music on Fridays 🤩

We had the beet carpaccio (beets were raw, not enough citrus), lime cooler (suuuuper sour) and the Seoul noodle bowl (pretty sweet for my taste). All in all the flavors were just a bit under or overdone on each dish. Atmosphere is cool and the service was great.

Upscale eatery with a formidable bar program and a good array of clearly-marked vegan options, and even more vegetarian options. Great for a nice dinner out. You can easily have multiple starters and entrees as a vegan. Service is good. Food is tasty. Not cheap but the price matches the level of fancy here.

I was staying nearby to Mahalo so I ate there several times. The vegan items were all clearly marked. For breakfast, I had the Power Bowl. I thought it was an interesting combination of ingredients but I really enjoyed the flavor. It was a little small for the price though. I returned for lunch and had the Falafel Bowl. This bowl was definitely not small and I was quite stuffed! It was also one of the best meals I had in Panama. Finally, do not miss the Tres Leches cake! So nice to find a vegan dessert and the taste was to die for.

I went to the Snack Shack place that also belongs to Mahalo. The vegan Soul Bowl I ordered was very tasty. The place itself has a small garden with banana trees, definitely a nice place to sit down & enjoy your meal.
