Great food but really slow

Good quality food. Really tasty and many vegan options. But the service was slow and dishes came tepid.

Pros: lots of vegan options, vegan cheese, tasty and big portions

Cons: slow

Good range of vegan food

Vegetarian restaurant but many items on the menu are vegan (or can be made vegan). Delicious pasta options. I loved it!

Huge portions

We had the burger and the wok. The portions are huge! It was fairly good, but not the best I've had. They have most lacto food, but the menu is well labeled, so you know what you can have easily.

Pros: Huge portions

Cons: Not all options can be made vegan

good place

The food was good. The waiter was cool and provided excellent service and spoke English very well. The environment is clean and nice atmosphere. It also is conveniently located close to some cool places to see. I was happy to find it in such a great city!

Pros: Creative menu , Good service , Nice atmosphere

Maybe better for a couple's romantic dinner

This is the only vegetarian place in Toledo so I went. However, it was not a relaxed place to eat alone -- most veg(etari)an restaurants are more like cafés but this definitely isn't. I wouldn't have minded the experience so much if it were vegan but unlike anyone in this day and age who can grasp basic concepts, it for some reason isn't.

I had the hamburger, which was nice enough but cost €10 -- much more than it should. The waitress also offered me bread, which I took as I was hungry, not realizing that that would cost me another €1.

I was still in Toledo the next night but didn't return, and won't when I visit again.

Pros: Some vegan options, Central

Cons: Not all vegan, Expensive, Not a charming atmosphere

Really good, but expensive

A nice, quiet place with really good food. The pasta, pizza and salad were excellent, and the service was good, relatively fast (we entered at 15:15 and finished eating at 16:00) and the ammount of food was really good. Still, it was a bit pricey (10 each plate, 10 the winde, plus the bread). Not a forbiding price, though, but not cheap. If you are passing by, I totally recommend this place.

The vegan options are great, although the menu is centered around vegetarian food.

Pros: Good food and a good ammount of it., Really nice and quiet place., Near the cathedral.

Cons: A bit expensive ( not much).

Considering it's almost the only place in Toledo with vegan options...

Frankly - we expected more. My wife's Vegan Lasagna and my Wok Noodles were soaked in oil. Nothing extraordinary and definitely overpriced.

Pros: Provides vegan options

Cons: Very slow service, Totally overpriced food, Heavy on oil and salt

Close on Tuesday!

We arrived to Toledo early, before the restaurant got open, so we walk around and wait for an hour and a half just for lunch but when we finally arrived to rhe restaurant we found out it is closed! we were very disappointed and veary hungry it's a shame it wasn't written somewhere on web... Just for you to know there are no other veg or vegan places in Toledo not even a veg friendly, we try on ALL other restaurants and they laughed at us, not even a small tapas, so be aware....!

Pros: Wish i could tell you...

Cons: An update web time schedule would be nice...

Delicious & filling vegetarian/vegan food

One of the best lunches we’ve had since our arrival in Spain! If you are vegan, vegetarian, or just looking for a tasty, wholesome vegetarian meal, don’t miss out on Madre Tierra. Wonderful fine dining ambience, English menu with clearly marked items (milk, eggs, soy, sesame, etc.), great portion size and excellent service in English. We loved it so much that we packed lunch for the next day. Throughly enjoyed the wok fried rice noodles with veggies as well as risotto with veggies. Both very flavorful, though noodles was our favorite. A must-try if in Toledo!

Pros: Varied vegetarian/vegan options , English speaking & very helpful service , Only veg restaurant in Toledo so support them!

Cons: Can’t think of any

Veggie option in meat-centric Toledo

Had a fairly decent meal at Madre Tierra. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of vegan-friendly fare in Toledo, so this was the most filling meal we had while we stayed in the city. The menu clearly denoted which items were vegan-friendly, and our waiter was knowledgeable about this as well. As other reviewers have noted, you do have to pay for water and bread (which seems typical in Spain).

The big downside to our meal there was just how LONG it took. I think we were in there for more than two hours during lunchtime!
My husband (not vegan) got the pate plate, and he said it was very good.
The kids wanted spring rolls, but the waiter said they were out of spring rolls, so the kids settled with vegetable maki rolls, which frankly did not taste good.
I had the mushroom lasagna, which was good. The kids split some spaghetti.
Anyway, the food was only mediocre and the service took a long time. Plus, it was expensive. Still, with few options in Toledo I might resort to coming back if I am ever in the city again.

Pros: Menu clearly indicates which items are vegan, Beautiful decor

Cons: Expensive , Slow service, Some dishes did not taste good

Wanna-be trendy - Unimaginative, oily, and ironically lacking on vegetables

Pizza was super slim and tiny with not much on top. A small layer of tomato, vegan cheese, garlic and herbs. Vegan burger came with super salty fried potatoes covered in oil. Tasteless. This restaurant is not vegan friendly by nature since most main menu dishes have cheese/cow’s pus on them. Overall very expensive. Appetizers for 10€ is almost the price of a dish. Olives are ok. I wouldn’t recommend.

Pros: Olives

Cons: Expensive appetizers and desserts, Oily, Non-vegan friendly

Good ambient, tasty food and plenty of it / buen ambiente, comida sabrosa y en cantidad

Cozy atmosphere, an extensive menu of vegetarian and vegan dishes, large portions at least what I ordered (wok of rice noodles with vegetables, fruit salad flambéed with caramel), also has a good wine list and beers (organic). The only cons, there is no menu and you have to ask for separate dishes.

Pros: good food, organic, large portions

Cons: has not menu

Pros: Todo a favor!

Cons: Nada en contra!

Not my favourite

Bit disappointing. Service was slow which was fine but they refused to just leave a bottle of tap water on the table so I was water less most of the meal and it took ages to be able to order anything. I think they wanted me to buy a bottle but am keen to avoid plastic where possible.
Warm spinach salad was the most oily thing I have ever eaten. There was a soup of oil and balsamic vinegar in the bowl with my salad. Flavours could have been good as was generous portion with lots of walnuts and mushrooms but every thing just tasted and felt like oil. Rice pudding was ok but super super sweet .

Pros: Only vegetarian restaurant in Toledo.

Cons: Expensive, Oily, Not particularly welcoming, interested or prompt s

Good vegan options in small town

Ate here in October 2017. The back of the menu has about 15 - 20 items that are or can be made vegan.

I had the plate of grilled vegetables with olive tapenade, and the spaghetti bolognese. I wasn't expecting so many choices in a small Spanish town.

The restaurant is larger and well decorated. However, it is in the basement of a building without very many windows.

Pros: Vegan/Vegetarian options, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Inside seating only

Quiet and Comfortable with excellent service and very good food

The food was very good. The service was excellent and the restaurant was quiet and comfortable. The menu showed all the items in each food, identifying nuts, soy, gluten, milk, eggs, milk, etc (why are eggs vegetarian?). It wasn’t hard to find vegan items and if in doubt, the waiter was there to help. There are a number of items that they will gladly make vegan. There was quite a bit of salt and oil in the food, but that is the way things are in most Spanish restaurants. I would go back for sure! One side note, you can see the kitchen on the way to the services and it is immaculate!

Pros: Vegan friendly; all potential allergies and ingred, Pleasant atmosphere, Excellent service

Cons: More salt and oil than homemade food

unpredictable

A nice option in a small town. We went twice while visiting. The first visit was nice and food was very good. The service was polite and friendly. During our second visit the food was good and service less than helpful.

I ordered a coffee with soy and got one with dairy even after explaining I'm vegan.

Pros: nice atmosphere

Cons: price a bit high

Average

Heavy on dairy in the menu. Vegans beware, though there are vegan options.
A little expensive
Large starters - careful! Rich too. The food was tasty. The sushi rolls came with a spicey tangy sauce. Be careful ordering more than one starter between 2 people.
A nice selection of beers.
Below average service.

Pros: It's a big restaurant with a nice interior, A varied menu, Good food

Cons: Service , Value

Not good at all - Expensive

The vegetable stir-fry was literally swimming in oil. The bolognese pasta came with grated cheese (which wasn't in the menu). And it wasn't cheap. Don't go there.

Cons: Not good , Not cheap

lovely food

Lovely food and service, very recommended. Three of us ate vegetarian plus myself (vegan) and we all finished absolutely everything in our plates. We paid about €22 each - 2 starters, 4 mains, 2 desserts and 2 expressos

trip to toledo

if you are vege and travel to Toledo, this restaurant saves your ass because its hard to order sth vege in other restaurants. They don't have many vegan offers but it is possible to order it too. Most of the dishes are with cheese. The music and decor are quite magic there, but a few options on the menu were unavailable, fx gazpacho or some kins of alcohol.

Pros: fancy

Cons: expensive , waiters don's speak english

Not vegan-friendly at all

I was really excited about this place, I convinced my friends to visit the place but I was really disappointed at the end.

This place is not vegan-friendly at all. There was no indication of "vegan" and a lot of dishes that could be perfectly vegan, had eggs and butter. Butter! And they did not even say it in the menu. If I had not asked whether some dishes were vegan or not, I would not even notice it.

Moreover, the price was moderate and the portions were small.

Finally, they had not tap water available and we had to pay more than 3 EUR for a bottle. Incredible and shameful.

Pros: Vegetarian, Lovely place

Cons: Not vegan-friendly, No tap watter, Small portions

Comida deliciosa! Excellent veggie'n'vegan.

Here we had our most nutritious meal on a two week tour around Spain. The portions were generous with the restaurant and toilets clean and pleasantly decorated. The service was prompt although we were first in being early birds arriving for "brunch".

A quality experience and 100% recommended with menus in both Spanish and English.

Veganism was understood and there were a few vegan options and a willingness to veganise veggie dishes.

Pros: Vegan options, Generous portions., Clean with good service.
