Buen sitio para comprar algunas cosas veganas.

Hay un montón de cosas veganas, para el día a día. Es un sitio chiquito pero está súper bien surtido.

Pros: Varios productos., Muy buena atención.

Cons: Es caro.

Not really worth the visit

We walked here from our hostel in Miraflores hoping to find some vegan baked goods, or at least some to-go food, but there was nothing vegan. There are "vegan-friendly" foods on the shelves, but they're only useful if you are going to cook. Not really worth the visit.

Pros: Some vegan items

Cons: Baked goods contained egg and milk, No vegan baked or to-go goods

Not impressed

***This review applies to the grocery store only***

Dropped by here to take a look while strolling in Miraflores. The store was quite small, and so was the selection. None of the products were interesting or unique. Many of them didn't have a price either—not on the packaging and no labels on the shelves. I also found it weird that they put beverages (including kombucha) in a cooler that wasn't running. I would have liked to check out the café as well, but too bad it was closed. The courtyard in the back was quite nice though. So, as far as the store is concerned, there's really no need to visit unless you happen to be in the area already.

Cons: small selection, lack of prices

great little complex

Madre Natura is a beautiful little complex tucked away with a bakery, health food store and cafe all surrounding a nice courtyard area. Had the veggie burger for 6 soles and veggie moussaka for 5 - both were great tasting. Fresh juices too.

Pros: good value, fresh food

Cons: not overly large portions

unique snack bar/bakery in a good natural shop

A unique place, and it's not fair for it to get written of by two reviwers with their own very narrow standards (which themselves are totally reasonable).

No, it doesn't have a set lunch - but who would want every place they go to to have that? Not common in most cities, and there's no reason why it should be expected in Lima. It aims to be more of a high-ish end snack bar anyhow, offering one of three daily plates along with other items.

As for the vegan issues, they're valid, and I had to push them quite a bit to get the right answers - at first something had no eggs, then "just a little." That's what brings the place down a star for me, and it's a shame since in the health food store out front (one of the most extensive in Lima, from what I've found) sells rice, oat, and even orzo milk - so they know there are alternatives.

I did find the system a little funny... there was no alternate bread to use for a soyburger, but right next door is the store's bakery. I had to go and buy bread, get it sliced, and bring some slices back to the counter. I guess it's good that this is even possible, but it was somewhat off.

Juices, on the other hand, were some of the best I've tried in Lima.

Definitely worth checking out, especially now that you know they don't have a set menu and you need to be extra vigilant with them re: veganness.

Pros: extensive store, great juice, unique

Cons: pricey, un-vegan, a bit of a walk

It's OK, but nothing special

The food here is OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. The big minus (for me) about this place is that they don't have a set meal-of-the-day, like other places in town. Usually you would pay between 6 and 9 Soles, and you get a meal-of-the-day that includes soup, the main plate, a drink and dessert. Here, everything is a la carte, and they mainly have salads and sandwiches. Not the most interesting food, and it's kind of expensive when compared to other places in the area. It's also a bit of a walk if you are staying in the central Miraflores area where most tourists are. They do have a nice area outside with covered tables and the atmosphere is pleasant. As another reviewer wrote, they also have the health-food store and bakery on the premises.

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: Comparatively expensive, Location

unfortunate/upset

this place went from my favorite place in lima to my least. for starters, they don't have a list of ingredients on many of their pastry products or all the in-house made baked goods. we were told that all the items we selected were vegan by the young man, who was rather confident about it. the next time we visited we were told by the older gentleman that the pastries contained cow's milk. we expressed our complete disgust over their (actually just the younger man working there) lack of knowledge of the products that they are selling, which he (the younger guy mentioned above) attempted to deny having told us they were devoid of all the other animal ingredients we listed off. in the end he was made well aware of our disgust. there is more to the market, there is also a restaurant, a little boutique, and a bakery so please don't sign this place off all together if you're thinking to.

Pros: variety, fresh-juice, central

Cons: no list of ingredients on many products, most items lack prices, one incompetent worker
