Delicious lentil stew 🤩 - Edit
Over 10 fully vegan dishes 😱 Asked the waiter which one is the best; he recommended the lentil stew and it was delicious 🤩 My boyfriend had the curry which was also very nice. Highly recommended!!

We stayed in Rurrenabaque for a week and went to Luz the Mar for every lunch and dinner. It can be tricky to find nice veggie food in Bolivia, but here they do an amazing job. There's a special vegetarian and vegan menu and the menu del dÃa (which is only 15BOL and includes an appetizer, drink, soup and main course) always has a veggie option too. To add to that: the staff is so so friendly. On our last night we had a chat and a drink together. Don't miss this place when you're in Rurre!

Seven vegan options on the menu, including the best authentic falafel I've had in many years. The quinoa salad was reported to be 'divine'😄 The fresh pineapple juice was excellantly prepared. Avocado 'caprese' is inspired.

The lunch menu was vegan for only 28 bs. (included a soup, a few toasts and tacos) which was good. I had a burger with fries in the evening which was ok, it was just fried veggies with wholegrain bread.

This place is great value for money (best I’ve found in South America), the lunch deal for only 15bs includes a some garlic breads, plantain, juice, soup and main !! Staff are very friendly and a vegan option to the menu of the day is available daily. They also have soy milk and make delicious banana Oreo smoothies and other fresh juices.

I went there twice. The first time I had falafel which was so so and a fresh limonade. The second time I ate a tasty burger with some lumpy fries.

This restaurant is by far the best option for vegetarians in Rurrenebaque, we went twice in two days. Their 15 BoB menu del dia for lunch always consists of a vegetarian soup, garlic bread and patacon, a drink and a vegetarian option for main course. They have a veg section on the menu with a really good selection of dishes, we had pastas and salads which were divine! Most things come with their homemade grainy bread which is to die for, so fresh and tasty. To top it all off they have fresh juices and blended iced teas to beat the heat.

This is the best option for vegans traveling in or through Rurrenabaque. They advertise vegan, vegetarian as well as local products.
Read moreThe owner/chef, Luz de Mar, is well versed in vegan foods. We are a traveling vegan couple and she went out of her way to make us some incredible vegan dishes that would rival most anywhere...not likely to find anything even close within a 100 mile radius!
I would fully recommend this place for not only vegans but for anyone looking to fill up on some great wholesome food.
