You want traditional portuguese food, cooked with veganlove? Go to Lupin Snack Bar!!! We enjoyed the delicious menu with Binfanhas and pastel de nata. It was perfect. The owner is a lovely, nice, crazy guy, he loves what he is doing out of conviction. I can highly recommend it.

During our visit to Oporto some locals recommended this lovely place to us. We had a great time there, food was very yummy and authentic Portuguese food made vegan. We found later than the owners were such lovely people too. I highly recommend going to Lupin's!

Cute cafe and delicious Portuguese food made vegan.
Read moreOwner gave me a small sample of a broad been stew as I did not know what I wanted and it was delicious so I ordered the dish. Had rice and the stew as well as a fresh roll with dipping olive oil and roasted sesame seeds. How unique.
Also had a fritter to begin with and Limonada with ginger.
They are cooking with love, check them out!

Great local cafe - Edit
Nestled in the Lapa area of Porto, this cozy local café exudes a welcoming charm, where the owners' personal touch is evident in every aspect, from the cuisine to the ambiance.
Read moreOpting for the set meal, I savored a delightful trio: alphabet mushroom soup, flavorful cannelloni, and a heavenly dessert—all meticulously crafted from scratch, adding an authentic touch to the experience.
As soft rock melodies filled the air, the café resonated with the harmonious chorus of Whitesnake's iconic anthem, "Here I go again on my own...". It was a moment of shared camaraderie between the staff and patrons, creating an atmosphere that felt like home.
Despite the language barrier, the lively banter flowing around me only enhanced the authenticity of the experience, leaving me yearning to be part of the conversation.
In addition to its warm ambiance and delectable fare, this café offers exceptional value for those seeking an authentic taste of Porto. Truly a gem worth discovering.

Traditional dishes and a warm welcome - Edit
The place prides itself on producing vegan versions of traditional Portuguese, meat heavy dishes. We had a feast for two for 30euros including a well earned tip. We had ‘chicken’ style mushroom noodle soup, an amazing mushroom pate, three hot dishes - ‘chicken’ stroganoff, tofu ‘liver’ with onions and peppers and seitan Sunday roast. Washed down with Superbok and a wonderful chocolate mousse and coffee full stop! The location inside a really interesting shopping centre with vintage items and a lovely boutique. The two staff members were passionate about their food and very helpful in making our experience a special one. It seemed popular with local families too. There is also a lovely tiled bar inside where I imagine a lone diner would be made welcome. There are loos nearby which were clean and well stocked.

Great option - Edit
Nice option in a desserted shopping center. Feels very local. Menu consists of veganised local dishes. All were very tasty except the feta which tasted more like violife which I’m not a fan of. Super slow service which adds to the local atmosphere but be ready for that if you’re in a rush.

What a nice little gem of vegan Porto! - Edit
The Lupin Snack Bar is an authentic and welcoming place offering freshly prepared home made Portuguese food. The place is located in the back of a shopping center and quite small. This however comes with a nice welcoming atmosphere, where you get to chat with the owner as well as the other guests of Lupin.

Definitively recommended in case you are looking for a vegan but not super fancy or hipster kind of place in Porto :)
Takes only cash.
Pros: welcoming and super nice, authentic vegan Portuguese food, the whole experience of being there

Amazing food, lovely people - Edit
Lupin Snack Bar is the most authentic, honest and friendly vegan place in Porto! Even as a non-vegan, you will have amazing food and a good time. The food is super delicious, healthy, homemade-style and the prices are honest (and low). It is NOT another vegan place where you find burgers and chicken nuggets for crazy high prices. The best thing about the place however is the owner, Andreia. She is so kind, will welcome you in the most loving way and make you feel home in the restaurant. Thank you so much for all the amazing meals and the time! Highly recommend!!!❤️🥰

Wonderful cafe, please go here! - Edit
The owner is absolutely fantastic and so lovely. I went to Lupin based on a recommendation from the lady at My Green Pastry telling me it was her favourite place. Unfortunately I turned up late and they’d sold out of food, but the owner was so incredibly kind and insisted on gifting me a slice of chocolate salami as an apology! The vegan community in Porto is really wonderful

Bom ♡ - Edit

Why do you give 3 out of 5, simply because they didn't have what you wanted? Does luck determine your rating...? If the food is good, why rate so low and put a heart in the title?
