Serves meat, vegan options available. Chinese take-away with several vegan dishes on offer in a dedicated section of the menu. Open Mon 16:30-22:30, Wed 16:30-20:30, Thu-Sun 16:30-22:30.
Closed Tues.
Lucky star offers a number of options on their menu which are fully vegan. The service has always been high quality to match the food. In a town so lacking of options it’s brilliant to see this as a take away go to.
We we're so happy to find one of our local Chinese offering a vegan menu!! We had sweet n sour chikn, salt n pepper chips, veg spring rolls and boiled rice.. it was lovely!
Vegan beef curry, vegan chicken in black bean sauce, vegan chicken chow mein. The food was really nice however I didn’t particularly love the meat alternatives, they were very close in texture to meat which wasn’t for me. When I get it again I will ask for it without the meat alternatives but other than that 100% recommend!!
There is not many good Chinese places around with a high food safety rating. Lucky Star has 4 stars out of 5 which makes it a safe place to eat.
Majority of places you will find on Just-Eat are rated 3 stars by Wigan council. I would never touch any food from a place that is rated below 4;
Very glad we found Lucky Star where we can eat with confidence.
The food is lovely. I love the vast selection of not only Chinese but also Thai. The Thai chicken roll is great, so are the curries and dumpling. We are mostly happy with everything.
The only thing I would improve is the Won Ton soup. I love how it has a lot of vegetable in it like cabbage, carrot etc, however I would add spring onion and improve the flavour and consistency a bit. Its still a good soup and the dumplings are some of the best I had from a takeaway in a long time but the broth needs a bit improvement.
Lucy Star is a great place to eat with safe and tasty food that is always consistent.
Craving a Chinese over the summer I was amazed to find this little hidden gem, with its own extensive vegan range. Available on JustEat or walk in, I highly recommend the Vegan Beef Curry and Vegan Chicken Fried Rice, you won't regret it, have tried a few other dishes, but for me it's the Beef Curry

Vegan section on the menu - Edit
Lots of vegan options and they will do fried rice with no egg if you ask for it. Szechuan tofu is delicious.
