Delicious veggie comfort food

Had the pulled jackfruit to share and the 'to-fish' tacos. Both delicious and the to fish actually could pass for fish. Jackfruit was also flavoured very well and my non-veggie friend loved it. Everything is reasonably priced and the decor and atmosphere is cool. Decent portions very filling!

Ambrosia - not the rice pudding.

Lovely friendly bar/restaurant with a ton of awesome veggie/vegan soul food. Man, I came in here for a beef burger, left a converted vegan. I didn't expect this. Service was also lovely. I mean, the place is more hip than George Clinton rockin' jompers. All staff were super friendly. Food arrived quick and I couldn't see my pal over the nachos. (they're awfie wee, but still.) worth a try.

Pros: Vegan veggie deluxe goodness

Cons: I was a happy carnivore.

Funky and fun

Great bar with a cool vibe
Was totally full when we got there, but the waiter bent over backwards to help us
Wasn't that impressed with the Po Boy, but the cauliflower wings and the southern friend halloumi were both great
Good beers on tap too

Pros: Good selection, Excellent staff

Best vegan junk food I’ve had! 😈

This is by far my favourite place for vegan junk food, everything is absolutely amazing and very affordable. The vegan mac and cheese, onion rings, buffalo cauliflower and jackfruit nachos were out of this world!

The place is packed on Saturday night and I would definitely recommend booking a table if going for dinner especially at weekends. They also have a great list of (vegan) cocktails which can be enjoyed in the very cool, quirky bar area.

Pros: Awesome decor and chill vibe, AMAZING food

Cons: Very busy at peak times

goood vibes and soul food!

Seitan meatball sub and chili bowl with cornbread were both fantastic. Not the cheapest but very reasonable for what you get, and a beautiful environment. Great menu with range of vegan and vegetarian options - def something for everyone here.

Pros: great decor, homely feel and comfort food

a Non-experience

We walked quite a long way and were very much looking forward to enjoying a nice dinner.
Unfortunately it is not stated on the page that minors are not allowed from 8pm and we had to leave deeply disappointed without food and hungry.
The waiter however said that he will pass it on to the manager that it should be stated on the page.

Great Comfort Food

Lots of vegan options are available at this vegetarian restaurant, set in a tiki themed bar. Great atmosphere, and really tasty food.

We've been twice in the last couple of days, and had the the Lucky Dawg, BBQ Jackfruit Po, BBQ Meatball Po, and Blackbean and Seitan Burger. For me, the winner was the burger, but Mrs Judgecal preferred the Meatballs. The Jackfruit is quite sweet, so go for the Meatballs if you like a more savoury BBQ dish. Go for the Lucky Spice Fries if you like a Cajun edge to your chips.

Service was friendly and prompt.

Pros: Lots of vegan options that are unhealthy. :-)

Cons: None I can think of.

Terrible Service, Decent food

I came here with my girlfriend on May 23rd. Atmosphere was pretty cool and the place was pretty packed. There appeared to be only two people working on the floor and two bartenders (although there were only 4 chairs at the bar). We went ignored until we pulled aside a waiter and asked him if we could be sat. He said he would let us know when a seat opened up. He ended up seating people who came in after us first which was weird. The people on the side of us got menus, drinks, and had their food order taken and we were still waiting for menus. All he had to do was turn around and hand them to us when he took them off the other table. We waited about 45 minutes. Watched him clear glasses off of empty tables and walked passed us a bunch of times even though we were clearly trying to make eye contact with him. I ended up going and getting my own menus from the bar and then approaching our waiter (blond hair, tie dyed shirt and a consistent annoyed expression) and telling him we were ready to order when he had a second. He came over and said yeah.. sorry.. I uhh forgot about you. So we put our order in and his response was " is that it?" and then he walked away. We waited quite a while for our drinks and finally one of the bartenders brought them over, without removing the empty glasses. Finally our food game, brought by yet a different person. We received no napkins or silverware. My girlfriend had to eat her salad with her hands. We waited a while for the bill and left no tip. We hardly wanted to pay the bill. We were there for 3 hours. Terrible terrible service. Food was pretty good but not worth the aggrevation. We both work in the food industry and realize it can be overwhelming at times but you should certainly always scan the room, choose priorities, and at the very least greet your customer with a smile and apologize when you've completely forgotten about them.

I got the jackfruit nachos and the corn bread. We split the veggie tempura with a garlic aoli dip. It was all pretty good and fair priced. My girlfriend got the "hot dawg" with a salad and seemed to like the salad better.

Pros: Food was decent, Atmosphere was cool, Pet friendly

Cons: Slow Service, Rude Staff

Very disappointing service

I would give this place 1 star if I could but the minimum for veg restaurants is 2 stars. This place was booked out for Valentine's Day but we were able to get a seat around 5.15pm when it was quiet. The decor and menu are both really cool, as described. We ordered two lucky dawgs (vegan hot dogs, it's 2 for 1 on Tuesdays) and some grilled corn. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive even though there were hardly any people in the restaurant. A table of 4 that arrived well after us were served first, even though they ordered many of the same dishes. Keep in mind we were only a party of 2, much easier to bring our meals out simultaneously than doing it for a party of 4. The hot dogs weren't that warm and while they tasted good, they weren't amazing. At least it was cheap with the 2 for 1 deal. The grilled corn was really fantastic though, really well flavoured. Our waitress had blue-green hair and was pretty rude, seemed annoyed when we asked for a dessert menu. We enquired about hot drinks and she was vague and we were brought a drinks menu for the first time. We had to ask to get more water. She just seemed annoyed at having to do her job. I heard her apologise for the kitchen delay to another couple but not to us. We left a modest tip because I feel really rude not tipping but I wish I hadn't tipped at all. We might have tried dessert if the service wasn't so bad.

Pros: Good corn, Cool decor

Cons: Terrible service, Food wasn't hot

A yummy jack fruit sub was devoured

I came here with a bunch of people. It was my suggestion to cater for the needs of the group and I feel it was a good suggestion as reactions were all round positive. I had a jack fruit sub with some sweet potato fries and I'd happily have that again. I also had some collard greens on the side and they were pretty delicious. Fairly lively place to have a few drinks in after if you're into that. Hopefully I'll make it back.

Pros: Jack fruit - yum, Reasonable prices

Cons: Perhaps a bit too lively for idle chitter-chatter

Tropical feeling amidst Scotland

Simply a great venue with awesome decor. It's very enjoyable to sojourn amid this jungle almost - there are plenty of plants, including large ones.
The vegan food options are overly good and inexpensive and huge! I loved the burger with beans and also the onion rings (try them, then you'll know what I mean). Apart from that I recall that most or even all of their draught beers were vegan, so amazing and so rare as well!
On the downside, Paradise Palms can get pretty stuffed with people sometimes, especially the later it gets. Despite the fact that the place isn't small; there is lots of space but it's obviously favoured by many and well-attended.
They do have WiFi but it wasn't that great when I used it.
On a side note, I think it wouldn't damage their turnover, maybe they could even benefit in doing so. That seems to be a very popular location, and many items from the menu they offer are vegan already, so it wouldn't be a great transposition, but it would set an example.

Pros: great venue, great decor, very good value, awesome food

Cons: gets crowded easily, could be fully vegan

Restaurant/Vinyl Store

This place is a favourite of mine. It's the quirkiest food place I've been to and I love it. There are patterned shirts on the ceiling and typewriters on the walls and a record store in the corner, not to even mention the plants that cover most of the room.
The vegan options are great too, more diner style food options like hot dogs, burgers and nachos, but the food is absolutely amazing and so cheap too. Two people could eat out and have a feast for less than £30

Loved it!

I've been here a few times and it's just great. Lovely atmosphere, yummy comfort food and pretty cheap especially considering how much food you get! The staff are really great with any questions you might have about exactly what is or what can be made vegan. If I could improve one thing then I'd maybe make sure that all of the veggie options can be made vegan, but overall it's a really cool place that I've recommended to many friends.

Pros: Yummy food, Great atmosphere, Really helpful staff

Cons: Not everything vegan
