Good options with lively atmosphere! - Edit
Clearly labelled vegan options with some plates with an option to veganize them. Lively atmosphere with good music and amazing frozen margaritas!!

Veggie friendly - Edit
Plenty of yummy veggie options, but more limited choice for vegans. Everything we had was very tasty though

Delicious food and margaritas - Edit
Not tons of vegan options but each of them were delicious and there were enough to add up to a varied meal. We had cauliflower tacos, plantain nachos and frijole tacos
Read morePros: The margaritas, Cauliflower tacos, Ambiance
Cons: Bit pricey, Not loads of vegan options

Nothing special — disappointing - Edit
Glad there are vegan options, but nothing worth going out your way for.

Wouldn’t go back - Edit
Food poor, low quality & lacking in flavour, except for sweetcorn skewers. Salmon sashimi tasted of chlorine; mushroom and sweet potato tacos were stodgy and drowned in gloopy sauce. Frozen cocktails were a disappointment. I’d rather go to Paradise Palms for great cocktails and food, Olly Bongo for lovely fresh salad or Ting Thai Caravan for tasty dishes.

Veggie tacos - Edit
A great place with fresh, authentic Mexican food. Reasonable price for the quality of food. Highly recommend the raspberry & thyme sorbet! Unbelievably good!

Long wait, one vegan dish on the menu - Edit
First things first: The vegan taco that I had tasted really great!
Read moreUnfortunately it was served about 30 min after my bf's and my mom's dishes. So they were already done eating by the time I was served. I know it's trendy these days to serve food whenever it's ready but I'm not a fan of the practice. They said later that they want to change this and send vegan food out first.
Pros: The vegan taco tastes great, Good music, Central location
Cons: Only one vegan option on the menu, It was way too dark on the table in the back, Table + plates were too small

Great wee Mexican with vegan options - Edit
El Cartel have always been a cult favourite in Edinburgh, but they are now growing their vegan offering with a few options and vegan alternatives to most of their vegetarian dishes. My favourite dish is the taco de camote, made with sweet potato, cashews, pumpkin seeds and red onion.
Read moreThere’s also a dangerously-delicious vegan-friendly cocktail, Ochoata, made with Ocho Blanco tequila, lime, house horchata made with rice milk, dates, cinnamon, vanilla, ground almonds and sprinkled with nutmeg. So good!
