Nice and clean loving hut

This loving hut has much of seats/space. The food was always tasty and not too oily.

Pros: Big, Good view out of the windows

Super cheap and bustling!

It's so great to just relax and not have to explain veganism! Loving Hut is really reasonably priced with tons of local choices, and is clearly very popular (it's often packed at dinnertime). The only negative is the slightly creepy cult stuff (there are lots of references to a 'Supreme Master' on both the TVs and on the walls!)

A must try for HK

English menu, great choices, great food. Look for the door entry as its upstairs and if you blink walking you’ll miss it. If it’s a week day go after 1430 or it’s only a set menu. Weekends and after 1430 you can order of the extensive menu. The club sandwich is really good.

Food is average

We ordered the XO fried rice, curry rice cutlet, tofu, stir fried mixed veggie, siew mai, tiramisu and caramel pudding.

The only dish which was quite ok is the XO fried rice. The siew mai is the disaster, I don't even want to think about the taste anymore...

Overall it is kind of disappointment for me as I like Loving Hut in Singapore so much. There is a lot of space for improvement...

Pros: Friendly staff, Lots of variety

Cons: Food taste

Cheap and cheerful

A great place for a cheap breakfast or lunch, with lots of good options. Food is served quickly and staff are friendly! What more could you ask for.

Huge variety, heavy on the mock meat

Loving Hut has been around for a while and is very popular with locals. I think this is probably because it is fairly cheap, in the middle of Wan Chai, with friendly staff. And it's quick service!

They have a LOT of choice with a huge board on the right as you enter. It usually takes me a while to decide what to order. Many dishes include some form of mock meat, which I am not so keen on, but they do have vegetable dishes too.

I've tried the set lunch for a very reasonable HKD 50, and enjoyed it. I find the food tastes ok. For my set lunch I found the soft tofu sauce to be a bit gloopy, but enjoyed the radish side, and cabbage dish. it comes with a soup and rice. I've tried various dishes a la carte (noodle dishes and siu mai), some of which are better than others. Fun to try vegan sui mai.

I'm here almost every month as it's close to my hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful.
They have a small shop with mock meats, sauces, pet food and ice cream as well :)

Pros: all vegan, friendly staff, reasonable prices

Cons: no English spoken

Cheap vegan meal

I have eaten in Loving Hut several times as it a cheap and fast meal option. The menu contains mainly asian vegan food and it is huge so there is always something new to try.

The desserts look interesting but they do not always have all the choices on the menu. Besides it is better to order the cake and tiramisu with your meal so it has time to defrost (they say 10 minutes, but air con is blasting and it takes much longer).

Food is ok in quality but they can improve cooking. I always order dumplings and the last time they were full of water since they are cooked from frozen.

Overall I would say the price matches the quality of the food

Pros: fast service, good customer service, completely vegan

Cons: Average taste, Frozen desserts

Laksa or Tomyam

Ordered a bowl of laksa, was puzzled when collecting my food order at the counter, as it looked more like tomyam. Double checked with the staff, confirmed laksa. The broth tasted like a combination of tomyam tomato soup drizzled with some coconut milk on top. Having lived in Malaysia and Singapore over three decades, I can tell this is not laksa. Don't bother to try this.

Pros: Easy to find, near MTR

My Fave !!

Located on a busy street in the city, Wan Chai. Very strategic location although I must confess I got lost looking for the restaurant for the first time. It was one of the restaurants that I visited several times during my short trip in HK - reasons being delicious food, quick service & affordable. Love their vegan egg tarts ~ yums!!!

mock meat heaven

It's cheap, has a grocery section, massive menu, and entirely vegan. Menu is dominated by dishes with different mock meats rather than vegetables, but a lot are Chinese/Asian.

Lots of vegan options

This cute little cafe is located on the second floor, the building is not very obvious. It’s on the corner and has 93-99 written at the top of the entrance. Go in then go up the stairs. There are lots of interesting vegan options with and without mock meats. I got the bbq tofu noodles, the tofu was delicious but the rest was a bit oily for me (I’m not keen on oily food) so perhaps a soup option may have been better.

ok restaurant

I will give it 3 stars , no English so it’s basically hard to communicate.
Food is not fresh (frozen)
Some dishes are ok but not more than that.

PS
I would recommend the sweet and sour dish(cold)
And not really tasty.

Local cuisine

What I liked most was we got to try some local snacks that I've been looking for like Char Siu Bao (sweet pork buns) and egg tarts. The best value for money is the lunch combo. We went with the ramen noodles stir fry with mixed strips and veggies. It has a mock meat curly strip and mock octopus strips. The food is the good kind of average, the kind that hits the spot but you wouldn't tell your friends back home about. Nice large seating area and small groceries section including some Sheese vegan cheeses.

Pros: Local cuisine options, value for money, large [censored]

Cons: Average food

Yum and Cheap!

I came here for dinner and was pleased with such a varied menu and quick service. The overall environment was cozy and made for a good spot to people-watch down below, too! I brought my non-vegan friend here and we were both satisfied with our food-I ordered chowfun and she got the set plate. The prices were very low, too, and we were happy with the signs and words posted on the walls, too :)

must checkout

It might be a little difficult finding the place, because its on 2nd floor even though some pictures on google show it on the ground floor. Just look up at the building and you will see the loving hut board. Food was really good too, it was self service though. The vegan tarts were better than the real egg tarts as my friend said. And the fried rice with X/O sauce is a must try. Noodles we ordered weren’t that good though. Definitely one of the best vegan food in Hk

Yummy

Our friends of the local vegan meetups eat here from time to time. The food is always tasty, and the variety is good. Sometimes we opt for the Chinese style dishes like the noodles and dumplings (so good); other times we order the American dishes like sandwiches and fries.

Pros: good variety, affordable, vegan

Loving Hut - Wan Chai

I had heard a lot about the Loving Hut chain of vegan restaurants but I had never been to one until I visited the Wan Chai restaurant a couple of days ago.

The place is located in the second floor of an old building. The local is spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly since the moment we enterd the restaurant.

The food was tasty and cheap. The noodles and the fried rice deserve special recognition. The pizza was decent but not great, I wouldn't order it again. Everything is vegan so that is an added plus at least for me.

I would go again given that the food is really nice and cheap.

Pros: Nice food, Cheap, Friendly staff

Horrible frozen rubbish

Amazed by the great reviews for this place. It's staffed by disinterested, grumpy teenagers. The food is frozen and then prepared by microwave. I could tell it was mic-ed by the ridiculous temperature. No flame can ever get that hot. It was 10 minutes before I dared touch it with a spoon. If you are in any doubt, just check the takeaway freezer to the left of the door. It's filled with frozen prepackaged goods from the menu.
