Love this spot! - Edit
We came here a few times during our stay in San Diego. We highly recommend the garlic butter fried rice, garlic noodles with shrimp, the cheese bread, cheese wontons, and the crispy rolls and don’t miss out on the lucky cold brew! Amazing service and vegan choices here.

Very good! - Edit
We ordered a variety of things for our first time here:
Read moreCheese wontons: I was pleasantly surprised and these may of been my favorite thing I got. Fried wontons with a splash of cheddar. Not to overwhelming and very good
Nugs and fries: these were for my 4yo. The nugs were very good dipped in the sauce that came with the wontons
Spring rolls: tasted but more of a egg roll than a spring roll
Healthy fried rice: very good and fresh, not a dry fried rice either! I really enjoyed the “beef” pieces in the dish
Pho: huge portions. Good flavor although I haven’t had pho before this so I don’t have anything to compare it too. But overall enjoyed. I got all 3 “meats”. The chicken was the best of the 3
I look forward to trying more things #Veganuary
Pros: All vegan, Large portions
Cons: Tad pricey

Mediocre at best - Edit
My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try and were left disappointed. Both of our dishes (shrimp fried rice and shrimp noodles) were both over salted to the point we couldn’t finish our food. I like salty food, but it was overwhelming. We also tried the cheese wontons which were good, not great, but definitely the best thing we had. For the price, we are not inclined to try this place again. Overall, I have had a lot worse food, but I have also had a lot better.

Best vegan noodles dishes - Edit
The customer service were awesome! The food was even better. My sister and I wanted to try some Asian dishes that we grew up eating and was very surprised how good it was. We had the egg rolls and fresh summer rolls for appetizers and the royal noodles (bun bo hue) and the bbq noodles (bun thit nuong cha gio). Both dishes were delicious. I highly recommend the royal noodle dish if you love bun bo hue.

Just okay - Edit
We waited half an hour for our food when there really weren’t a ton of people nor orders in. The place was a little dank and not a great spot to sit and eat IMO. Food was pretty bland. I was super excited because I’ve heard a lot of hype about loving hut but was sorely disappointed in how slow the service was and how bland the food tasted.

I have been to several other loving hut locations and this is by far my favorite! I always get the lemongrass tofu. I also like the chowmein.

Not sure if there will be a next time - Edit
This was my first time here, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The menu features mostly Asian dishes like chowmein, pho, and fried tofu—not entirely Chinese or Vietnamese or Thai but a combination. There’s a small selection of Western options. We chose the Loving Hut Burger and fries for take-out. We only waited ten minutes which was nice, but when we got home I wished that they had spent more time; the fries were lukewarm and the texture was a giveaway that they had been cooked earlier in the day. The burger was huge and sloppy with a lot of mushroom sauce. It tasted okay, though. I’m wondering if the quality of the food would have been better if we had ordered an Asian dish. I don’t have any complaints about the chocolate cake. That they do well.

Don't Skip Dessert - Edit
Cake is a middle class miracle of gas ovens and baking powder that we now eat, by the slice, at casual occasions. And there is little more casual then a hot bowl of pho following by Loving Hut's outstanding Pandan Cake ($4.95 a slice). The pale green crumb tastes of sweet coconut with a distinct grassy finish. The airy whipped cream frosting melt into each bite as chewy ribbons of syrup soaked coconut flesh appear between the layers. I've eaten this cake at birthday parties and I've eaten this cake for no reason at all. It is, to me, the best restaurant cake to be had in San Diego.

Loving, loving hut - Edit
When I first went I was hesitant that it would be another expensive vegan restaurant with tiny portions, but when I went I was pleasantly surprised! It has many different types of foods to try and it’s an affordable price, last I went. After going the first time I’ve gone many more and have brought many non vegan friends that ALSO loved the food! It’s a beautiful CLEAN environment with DELICIOUS food. I recommend going especially with non vegans that are open to trying it. Also the Mac and cheese here is so so so tasty!

Good Food at a Nice Price - Edit
I had the Bun Hue (spicy) noodle soup. I was pretty hungry that day so I ordered the large and I couldn’t believe my eyes when it came out it was SO big. This was almost a year ago in December 2018 so I’m not sure if it was still that big. For $9.50 I think that’s great. If I lived in the area I would definitely go back there on a cold day or night to eat that again. The staff was also very nice, I went on a mostly empty day.

My mom got the Lucky Mongo and I got the Crispy Gardein burger. We also shared the BBQ rolls. The fries were too crispy, but our waitress was helpful and gave me new ones. The food was very delicious.

Solid but not as good as other Loving Hut locations - Edit
Consistent and pretty good. Other Loving Hut restaurants are better. Oddly, this one seems to shirt change customers on vegetables! The spiritual videos were distracting. Decent prices. Casual and comfortable.

Combination of American and Asian Food - Edit
I had the mozzarella sticks which were really good, even better than real ones as far as I remember. Also the Eggplant/Tofu dish with rice was delicious but I‘d rather go for something else as this Thai Style Food may be better in other locations. Blueberry Cheesecake Cake without the whole chocolate is highly recommended. I went with a „non-non“-vegan who said he will definitely go back by himself :-)
