Always delish - Edit
Loving hut is a great, easy option. I always love trying new things when I go and have never been disappointed with anything tried. I love the garlic butter fried rice so much! 10/10 every time

okay - Edit
The evening we came here there were no other customers and it wasn't a cozy atmosphere (kind of bright and sterile). The food and service was just okay. Confused by the great reviews.

Great chain option - Edit
The food is good, but I feel like there are much better local options available these days.
Read moreI got the wontons, mongolian beef, and red velvet cake. The cake was moist, but not a lot of flavor to it.

This place was so good for dinner, I returned the next day for lunch! - Edit
So I'd seen Loving Huts all over the world when searching Happy Cow, but this the first time I actually tried one. From previous reviews at this location, it appears that the quality has gone down when the ownership changed. On my first visit, I'm thinking the prior proprietor must have been SPECTACULAR because what I experienced was some great service. For dinner, there appeared to only be two employees, a woman who was taking orders and running food, and a cook in the back preparing the food. There were a LOT of food delivery pickups and there was a bit of a wait to order and to get my food, but I can't say that I waited a particularly long time, and the woman was overly and unnecessarily apologetic.
Read moreI decided to try the Cha Cha Garlic Noodles for dinner, and the portion was pretty large. The dishware is fairly large, so the amount of food looks deceivingly small. The noodles were perfectly al dente with a delicious garlic sauce. I'm not sure if the cha cha shrimp are a premade item or if made in-house, but the texture accurately mimicked that of shrimp. There were several pieces of it and I was full and satisfied after I finished.
When I returned for lunch the next day, again, there seemed to be two employees. A young woman working the front and a cook in the back. It wasn't quite as busy as it was the night before, but there appeared to be more dine-in customers. The Garlic Chicken Banh Mi was also quite good with plenty of "chicken" in the sandwich. The bread was fresh with a crunch of crust, but soft inside. I would definitely order both dishes again.
I did notice that a lot of empty tables had remnants of previous diners, dishes, glasses, silverware, that wasn't cleared in a timely manner. I know that it could probably be that there aren't enough employees, but it seemed that there were lulls both at dinner and lunch where the tables could be cleared. That's about the only complaint I have about the restaurant. The parking lot has very narrow stalls, so that could be problematic, as well, but at least there's a parking lot available.
I would definitely visit again when in the area to try other items on the menu!
Pros: Great food!, Friendly service
Cons: Can be pricey

All vegan with a spiritual/compassionate rather than political philosophy. Friendly and reasonable. Too bad there’s only one dish that’s gluten free but it’s great!

Serves Asian and American vegan food. - Edit
Loving Hut is a great place to go for variety. I love all types of Asian cuisine, but I have a couple of friends that don't. I can order the Tofu Eggplant or Cha Cha Fried Rice, and my friends can get a Vegan burger or Vegan chicken sandwich. It's a little too reliant on soy and fried foods for me to frequent too often, but it's always tasty. #Veganuary

Since the previous family (Brandon’s family) sold this Loving Hut I have not return.
Read moreToday I ordered my all time favorite, Royal Noodle Soup (Bun Bo Hue) from this North Park location.
The noodle itself was really “al dente”, it actually was really odd. The pasta was cooked through yet still hard to chew. The soup was lacking the depth of the Bun Bo Hue like it used to be. It was also not spicy at all.
Overall, the Royal Noodle Soup was bland and all I tasted was the acidity of the lime juice that I added from the lime wedge.
Pros: 100% plant-based, Attentive and friendly service, Quick service
Cons: Royal Noodle lacked flavor and spiciness

I love Loving Hut! - Edit
Loving Hut is an international chain of independently owned restaurants, and I try to visit the local locations wherever I travel. San Diego has three and this is one of them.
Read moreThe service was very friendly and the food was great! My favorite dishes were the Impossible Crispy Rolls and the Royal Noodle Soup.
This location is very cute inside and the owners try to be environmentally friendly, by avoiding single use plastic and recycling or composting as much of the waste as possible.

Huge portions- super satisified - Edit
Got this delivered, while on a work trip. The soup was super hot when it arrived, and the noodles and toppings were packaged super nicely on the side. I can eat a lot of food in one sitting and this took me down about halfway. Full of tofu, mushrooms, and soy slices, this was delicious. The basil, sprouts, and jalapenos were so fresh and tasty. the broth was tasty and rich. I was incredibly impressed with this dish. I ordered the cheese wontons but didn't take a picture. They were a bit disappointing for the price, just cheese in a wrapper, which to be fair was what they said it would be. I would have preferred something more considering how good the soup was.

Terrible customer service - Edit
The lady at the front was super rude. I had my service animal with me, which I travel and go everywhere with, to come to this place, no other customers and she rudely said that they don’t care what type of animal it is, they don’t accept them. I have been to other loving hut restaurants in and out of state with my service animal and have never been treated they way they did here. I walked away and went to VEGANIC THAI CAFE, and the food was amazing, customer service was impeccable and despite it was full, they welcomed us with our service dog, they were another 3 tables with their well behaved dogs too. This is how a truly vegan restaurant atmosphere is. Never going back there and do not recommend it at all.

I needed a quick lunch when the conference I'm attending provided an undesirable vegan option. Tried the impossible BBQ noodles, which is a Bun/vermicelli noodle salad. It did not disappoint. Service was friendly and food came out fast.

As Delicious As All The Reviews Claim! - Edit
I just moved to San Diego 2 days ago and I had already been looking up where to order my first takeout meal. The stellar reviews for the Loving Hut caught my attention and they did NOT disappoint! I ordered the Blissful Pho with tofu and soy ham and the Cha Cha Shrimp with Garlic Noodles and both were absolutely delicious and flavorful! The pho broth smells and tastes amazing! Both are also very large portions. The noodles I had for 4 meals and the Pho I had as 2 meals. I can’t wait to try more from the menu!

Visiting San Diego for a conference and came across Loving Hut on HappyCow. The reviews were too good not to take advantage of this place.
Read moreWe started off with the Jumbo Drumsticks. Two of these with a side of rice would be an exceptional meal in and of itself. The combo of mushrooms gives this dish a meaty texture paired with a BBQ ginger sauce that’s delicious!! Ask for the chili paste for a little kick of flavor. It’s worth it! 😋
For our entrees we chose the Lemongrass Tofu and the Deluxe Vegetables. Both are served with a side of rice. Of the two we liked the Deluxe Vegetables the most. The sauce was perfect and savory. The tofu in the Lemongrass Tofu was a bit dry for our liking and didn’t hold enough lemongrass flavor.
Unfortunately we had filled up on dinner. The desserts on display look quite tasty.
This place is a strong “Yes”!!
Pros: Great meal selections, Inviting business location , Nice staff
